The actual weight isn't a problem when pressing. After a certain number of reps my right forearm feels like something is torn inside. But this only happens when pressing a bar or axle. Can't seem to recover from it, really ought to get it looked at

You not caught arm aids of Chaos then....?
Problems I have with reps when they start getting hard I actually gorget to breathe and start to go rather head in the face!

I don't think I've met Chaos, so unless I've caught it from one of his pissed up posts I don't think its arm aids.
As for the breathing thing I do that on log usually and end up making a complete mess of it. We're men, apparently we can't multi task so lifting and breathing at the same time is impossible for us.Grin

Felt like crap and wasn't even going to train but my mate came round again so decided to do some log.

Shoulder warm ups

90x2 Boo yah, BW strict on log. Rep PB

105xf very close, couldn't press it out.
85x lots tech work.

Really happy with that considering I wasn't even going to train. First time getting 100 on this log, felt good.

200x1 +1f Wasn't totally happy with the depth so tried for another set. 1st rep was good and deep, went for a second, dropped too deep lost the rebound so couldn't pop out of the hole and had to dump on to the pins.

Felt too easy, go up to 170 next week.

Done.Pretty good again, had to squat in wraps today the old knees were feeling a bit dodgy today. Should have stuck to the plan and just done the 3x3 top set, same with bench. Should have stayed at 125 3x3 but the ego took over and ended up with 2 crappy reps at 130.

Got a couple of days off to look after the kids because 13 weeks a year holiday isn't enough for a teacher, they need 'in service' days too! Rant over. Was going to do some front squats but my hips are really sore.

Log
85 x lots, trying different techniques. Found split jerk was good for singles but too explosive for reps as it takes too much energy but is quick and feels lighter on the shoulders.

Not too bad. Heaviest I've been on the push pressing for months. The stricts felt heavier than they should. Forearm still a bit sore but a lot better than it has been.

Solid overhead work mate.

As fr as split jerks on the log you very rarely see people who are able to split jerk max weights on the log consistently, I certainly find it very hit and miss on log and a power jerk is far more consistent in my experience once I get up to the bgger weights. Great for axle and bar though if you can perfect the technique.

Thanks Neil. I just thought I'd try split jerks after seeing General do it as bsm u90 and also the vid of the guy doing 150 at the log championships. Don't think I've got the balls to do it heavy it takes serious commitment! The overhead work is still pretty mediocre and nowhere near where it needs to be compared to everything else if I'm going to make a serious challenge at winning anything next year.

General is very consistant at the split jerk logs - he does it a lot if you watch his vids regulary mate.

Just trying different things to try and improve my log. I might try having a session every week just working on log tech and not worrying about the weight. The other stuff was ok but at least I can actually strict and push press somewhere near I could before my arm got all snapped up.
