very hard one to train without the kit. Maybe a shorter log could be a substitute? Cant think of any good gym substitutes. My main piece of advice is to chalk your hands on every rep.

Anything that is lower body and for high reps. When I train fingals finger my legs take the battering! I reckon pushing a van for fairly long distances would help

Could you not replicate a T-Bar row but 'clean' it from the other side.

By this I mean stick on end of the bar in a corner, load the other end up with weights and then lift similar to how you would a finger?

Also, bicep curls.

i think this depends what fingals you are using, you def dont need to on rob frampton's... but they are a sort of rounded rectangular shape. but i used one at the old unit 20 which was basically a tree and that was a bit slippier

Yeah good point, I just found a tiny slip on the clean and you can completely fail it.

I have only dont it once, in my last comp.

I had no idea how to train it, and found on the day that it didn't feel anything like I expected it to feel. I liked it, but I am still not sure how to train for it. High rep partial lunges with the heaviest thing you can hold overhead perhaps.

Leg drive is definately the biggest factor. I found the pick up and clean easy, and the event ok generally, but could have done with being a bit quicker and more coordinated, but I dont know how to do that without the kit

Never done it.

I don't want to be too pessimistic, but I'm confident that I'd be utterly s**t at it!

It would probably not suit you too well as height and leverage is an advantage. You could see the difference between the tall and short guys.

I find the same! My legs get so pumped! The clean is the easy bit IMO

I'd have to apply more force than everyone else because I'd be further down the finger!
