New log for a new start.

Simple goals:
*Fill out my frame and look like I lift.
* Keep getting stronger


I have been playing around with 3 and 4 day splits. I definitely favor the 4 day split.

I have no desire to compete at anything at the moment. I'm finally in a job with set hours and the extra money needed to eat copious amounts of food.

Diet has been pretty good lately, eating no less that 5 meals a day. I am not discriminating between clean calories and junk, as long as around 70-80% is clean.

I have just started using the percentages from the cube method as a structure for deadlifts, paused bench and oly front squats.

Think that's about it at the moment.

Will be benching on Monday with will be my rep week.

Oh and I'm around 80kg at the moment.

No training today. I was up all night ill. Haven't managed to keep anything down, so feel like death today.

Today is the first day since Sunday morning that I have been able to eat properly without being ill. Will be back in the gym next week. Lost around 10lb!

due to working overtime, I haven't made it into the gym. My membership runs out at the current one I'm at this month. I'm unsure about re-newing or looking for a gym with better opening hours and that doesn't have hex plates and horrible, bent bars

Yesterday I caught a bug off of the mrs, so wasn't feeling too clever. Good sleep and I feel great today. Bodyweight is up 2kg from last week!

I forgot my joggers for the gym so had to train in the jeans I wore to work (I work in a warehouse, so they are pitted with god knows what!)

Didn't train on Friday as I worked longer than was planned and have a nasty stomach bug thanks to the Mrs!

I'm sick of the opening times of the gym I am at, as well as the s**t bars, hex plates and high membership fees (which are going up an extra £15 a month!). I have found another gym, with way better opening times, decent bars, a power rack, nice, thin plates and plenty of space! Oh and its £29 cheaper a month!

So, it's been nearly a year since I posted in here.So, since I've been away, few more injuries have occurred and healed. I have been distracted by the female species more than once (Oh, those beautiful temptresses!) and rekindled my love for JD!

Training has been going fairly well recently, hit 150kg paused close grip bench, pulled 220kg off of a 4inch deficit, 90kg standing strict press and squatted rarely.

After recently suffering tendon damage in my ankle (walked into a chunk of wood at work... I do powder coating and shot blasting, so no idea why there was wood hanging about) and pushing my bench pretty hard, my joints are fairly beat up. My elbows are painful to touch and heavy pressing hurts (well all pressing). Normally at this point, I'd sack training off, spend a few months getting pissed, smoking 40-60 a day (I normally smoke about 15 a day) and avoiding anything healthy.

However, I've decided to try and stay focused and keep training. I won't be chasing heavier weights, but instead trying to create a larger base to peak from at some point in the future. I have also got some access to a log, axle, kegs and a few other bits, for the most part on a weekly basis.

I plan on using this log to keep me accountable, until I get pissed and forget it exists!

I'll be squatting tomorrow and maybe do some deadlifts.

Well I went in without a plan and didn't achieve a great deal.

Front squats
worked up to a paused 110kg, nothing special or difficult

Deadlifts
worked up to 200 for 3. Still getting used to deadlifts after focusing on deficit pulls.

Rack pulls
Started at 260 from the knee for a single, increased the range of motion an inch and hit another rep, kept repeating this process until the bar was about 2/3rds up my shin.

Messed about with some horrific looking power cleans and snatches.

I need some sort of plan!

Trained with a few lads and tried some event training. Trained outside, this was way more fun than training in a gym!

Here's my thoughts

Log: The clean was a piece of piss, press was easier. What wasn't was keeping my balance, partly due to lifting on gravel. Hopefully more practise will box off the balance issue!

Axle: This this was thick as f**k! It's the thickest one from strength shop annnndddd I have tiny hands! The clean quickly got difficult and I couldn't get to grips with the continental clean at all!

Messed around with a keg, cleaning it and doing shuttles ect and then finished off with some sledge hammer swings.

I really enjoyed it. Will be doing an events night once a week, when ever the lad whose equipment it is, isnt on shift!
