Want to go to the gym today, but got too much work on, so going to go down tomorrow am.

Squatting! 110 5x5. (Want to get to 165 5x5 before Xmas). I know from experience this will equate to a 210+ squat single, comfortably.

Want to get back training with my powerlifter mates in 4-6 weeks tops. The longer I leave it, the more detrimental it will be for my goals.

You guys should meet the powerlifters I train with in Bham.. Mostg of you would hate it though.. Think about Alan's bollockings but 2/3 x more aggressive and personal! It's not far off French Legionnaire training, seriously makes you question why you are doing it.. f**ks you up and spits you out with a screw loose the other side.

Def. need to get back to that frame of mind for where I want to be though.

What line of work have you gone into Andy? Law related or not?

Without getting into too many details... doing LPC now then trainee solicitor next year in London.

This could be my last run at consistent training, so going to make the most of it.

I have a bit of a screw loose though, and believe it or not, found somewhere full of screw-loose solicitors. Beautiful.

I've got so many business related ideas but right now I need to please my family and have *some* stability. You get awesome contacts being a solicitor aswell.. It's a bit like powerlifting.

If you go to the IPF Worlds and train with decent people, you are in a better position than trying to learn and scrabble from your garage and what you can assimilate yourself.

The most valuable s**t you ever get is attitude and contacts, not knowledge or education (any monkey can get those).. and I can get that from going down the route i'm going down.

Some of the best things people have ever taught me have come from people who don't give a crap about money, education or 'success' as how prescribed by the wider world and media. I may even reward myself by writing them down when I hit some goals.

I am continually surprised by people who got 1sts from Oxford/Cambridge, and now work as Bankers, who still do not get 'it', and that's why they won't ever be successful (even if they make £1m a year).

That sounds hideous! I enjoy my training and want it to stay that way!

I enjoy making progress but if I enjoy the actual session, I know I'm doing something wrong. Punishment!

See thats where were different. I love making progress, but I have perhaps 4 or 5 workouts a year that I dont enjoy, I love the rest.

I think I'm with Olly and Titch on this one, Andy. I love my training, that's why I do it.

I love the drive home after the training, i love the banter with the lads, I love thinking about my training.. I love fighting a weight.

...But I have made the best gains, when at the back of my mind, I wanted to stop, thought I had done enough and was beginning to hate it!

Overall I love the training experience... But ball cracking sets..set after set..after set.. realising that your form is s**t, that everyone thinks you're weak.. It can be demoralising!

Maybe I should add, I love deadlifting. Hate Benching. Hate Squatting.

Squatting scares the s**t out of me...I used to come home with burst blood vessels everywhere, even in my eye lids once! lol. Pretty funny stuff.

In case you miss it on MT mate, I'm quite willing to take a fiver off you on the Calzaghe fight.

You're on mate! I love a good bet!

Are we going on win or lose only?

Yes mate keep it simple. If Kessler wins I'll send you a fiver. WHEN Calzaghe wins send me a crisp 5 note.

Acceptable terms?
