Also I wanna try squatting 2-3 times a week,

the first session will be 5x5 heavy
the second 5x3 light
the third will be a heavy 5 rep set

Wigan and Little A used to squat regular and Wigan squatted 255 totally raw as a junior. The bas***d.

Appreciate your comments, the routine will evolve and the useless s**t will get thrown out. I'm not going to push the useless s**t, just do it and see how it goes tbh.

Yeah,

But as I said it's fun.

Some people get offended by everything, others find everything funny, whilst most are somewhere in between.

TBH, the worse thing is feeling 'nothing'. As I said, I like people who are extreme in all walks of life. There's not much difference between a neo Nazi and a left wing boot boy, as there's not much difference between the mind set of a 100 m sprinter and a powerlifter ( apart from pie consumption).

I guess my point is, we are much more alike than people realise.

Secondly, I never take debates personally, and try not to make judgements (but sometimes do).

Now some training tomorrow once the car is fixed.

lol you student.Tongue

You love stirring. You love debating. I want that 5000 word essay on 'Why Paedophiles Have got it Right' on my desk first thing tomorrow!Wink

lol.

My old lecturer at uni had an interesting viewpoint on that, and used to lecture the police/cps.

However... My journal will get flamed!

So on with the training.

Read that the American 125k junior champ squatted 250k 5x5, no belt, no suit, no wraps in training, and Brad Gillingham did 272.5k 5x5 in the same fashion.

I now think 227.5 5x5 is the sign of manliness. My PB is 175 3x5 with a belt, think it's gunna take a few years to add over 50k to that.

Mate, your ideas of what poundages constitute "manliness" seem to grow exponentially by the hour!

500lb raw squattting for 5+ reps would be considered strong by pretty much most people.

Manliness has to be earned mate. I am not a man yet, but I will be in 5-6 years time when I've acheived what I want (training, job, family).

No point setting low targets, I have already squatted some decent weights, despite being totally natural, drinking 3x a week, eating sh1t and training irregularly.

I think 500lbs for 5 raw will defo be there by my mid twenties.

I have ten years of hard training to do before I can consider myself at my peak, maybe more. Look at Littler!

If we were in Russia, China, or even US, 500lbs x 5 raw wouldn't be that uncommon in some circles.

I think it would probs equate to a 270-290 raw single. Big, but not impossible. After all, there's probs oly weightlifters who are 18 out there who can do that Confused

I think in the UK, we think 400lbs squat is strong, or a 500lb deadlift, whilst I think it is just the tip of the iceberg, ie. a start of a long journey.

Wink Now I gotta prove it.

EDIT: This is where I want to be before 30

You're right, a 400lb squat & 500lb deadlift are just the tip of the iceberg.

We're at a disadvantage in this country with regards to the overall attitude to strength-related exercise; high school athletes stateside are competing in 225lbs for reps bench comps, yet a 100kg raw 1RM bencher over here is considered a beast in the local 6th form common room.

P.S. Considering your previous provocative posts regarding British BWLA members, I'm surprised you chose those countries as the gold standard of what can be achieved naturally.Wink

Titch, don't do that! You know I wanna argue!

hahah. It's not the drug taking Titch...

We all have a hypocrite in us..

However, the satire is nearly always on the satirist. The hypocrisy is nearly always on the hypocrit. I.e making a post about a sport that I believe to be hypocritical, yet spending hours idolising that same sport.

I think I know who's winning, and it's not the me. A bit like Jonathan Swift and Gulliver, the finger slowly points back to the originator after all.

Just as well we all share a common love in porn to unite us. I have never met one person alive (of 18-50) who doesn't love it.

That's the future.

I think drug taking is very important in those countires Tongue

Neither are you goals implausable without! So crack on I say! You also dead right a 500lb deadlift is the start, and we have been ruined by the aerobc propaganda of the 80's and the discouarging of competitivness in PE (or so it would seem)!

165 5x5, think it will take 6 months solid training, as I'm not willing to sacrifice overall health for power!

I think 140 5x5 and a 160 x 5 are more sensible targets for the new year, jesus, only three months away!

Played some golf today, hit a 270 yard drive. Nice.. But it's not powerlifting.
