Good morning fellow sugdeners, recently I've been having some trouble keeping my hands under the bar when trying to catch an full Olympic clean, I can usually hold it but my pinkies would come off the bar either side, but yesterday I struggled to get under the bar at all.

What stretches should I be doing to help?

I've seen the California strength video when you hold the bar in a rack and someone else pushes you elbows up but as I train on my own this isn't possible.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I had this problem when i started power cleaning, front squats to warm up helps as does doing wrist circles. Another thing I found useful is to use a light or average band and stand on it and hold it in the rack position (one hand at a time) for 20 seconds or so.

Hope that is of some use to you.

You can do that excercise on your own, just rack the bar and push your elbows down onto anything that will force you into the full clean rack position. Eg a shelf, bench, pins in the rack. Theres loads!

Rack the bar (empty, for safety) and front squat down. Rest your elbows on your knees and let you upper body kind of roll forward and push your elbows up.

That's what I do, as I train on my own too.

I don`t have your problem .. i never do any stretches .

Just a simple youtube search returned these . I`m not endorsing any of this bulls**t . just pick the bones out of all this s**t from these random youtube channel geeks.
