Warmup was pretty hectic as it was quite a small room. Opened on 205kg with an uneven pass and had to wrestle to keep it level- fail took 205 again with centre pass- good lift 3rd attempt 210 uneven extension 2-1 against Got 3rd place but a disappointing performance, just not been sharp enough on the bench since christmas. Need to come up with a plan to get this lift moving, my last 2 contests have been my worst bench performances in a long time. Big thanks to Joe Bullock for all his help today backstage. | ||

Scotbasher - forever Member 59, 2115 posts | squats crap session did 5 reps on 165 felt so-so, went to 200kg and didn't feel right at all racked it after 2 reps lower back was cramped up. It hadn't felt 100% all week for some reason. Did some light bench then headed home to get an ice pack on it. Not a happy chap. Hope it's safe for me to mention this on here without being called a glass backed winging pencilneck or whatever! | ||

Scotbasher - forever Member 59, 2115 posts | Made it into the gym for some band benching today, Jake O'Neil (90kg)joined me and Jim for tonights session he's studying in Manchester and has lifted in the East Midlands before. Warmup and light rotator cuffs 60kg with blue band x5 100kg x5 -2 sets 60kg x5 double thick blue bands -2 sets light upright rows seated rows rotator cuff exercises On the positive side the back has improved since saturday. I was struggling getting round the house on sat eve, it felt a bit better on sunday and improved today. Have kept up with ice and ibuprofen. Not sure if I will be fit to squat on it this week at all, I will need to be careful for a few weeks. I have a physio session on thurs. | ||

Scotbasher - forever Member 59, 2115 posts | Shaun has torn a pec badly in a freak dipping accident last summer. He has drifted away and trains at another gym nearer home now as time has become a more scarce commodity with the arrival of his third boy. He may make a comeback though. | ||
