Albegov seems to have lost some of his mojo on the snatch whilst his jerks look increasingly solid - and if Talakhadze can go 215 on the snatch (which looks eminently possible) he may need those extra 10kg on each lift... Happy Albegov is my favourite for Rio but I'd be happy to see some fresh blood win it as well.

I also see Tiler went 99/125 over the weekend...

Yeah agree on his snatch, he was knocking out really nice 210s a few years ago, he definitely needs to be back on the form for Rio or Talakhadze will have a big old lead going into the C&J. I'd like Albegov to win in Rio, 210/265 would be nice to see. Don't mind if Talkhadze takes the snatch with a WR, but Albegov over all. Grin

Big battle for Tiler with Zoe next weekend, such a shame they both don't get a spot for Rio.

ChrisMcCarthy said:Some very nice lifting at the Russian Champs this week - Albegov 200 / 255 at SHW and Naniev 192 / 230 at 105, amongst others...

Thry both looked good, hopefully Albegov will add another 10k to each of those lifts for Rio Happy

It was also good to see Akhudov doing well at 85, although his 212 was right on the limit, great lifter but let down usually bh his clean

Also, the recent news about retrospective testing of 2008 Beijing samples that has brought out 31 positives, includes two Russian women weightlifters.

There were only four of them there, and I think they only retested people that are still active so that narrows the possibles down even further.

There are now seven:
One in the bog
One in the passageway
One to the right of the door by the leg press
Four in the wall opposite the door which were originally going to be ventilators

I suspected the window project had been extended to the ones opposite the door. Steve was on a mission to convince his dad of the virtues of it, I assume he succeeded!! There will be no need to ever put the lights on in there once they're done Happy

Can your mate down the road sort your windows out for you?

Which Windows is he replacing at the club now? I get the feeling it's more than we first planned looking at the price.
» Has anyone suffered from Hemorrhoids? (Go to post)18-05-2016 @ 05:43
Suffered with what I thought were Clements for years, eventually sought medical advice and it turned out I had a prolapsed intestine and it was my guts hanging out of my 'arris for all those years. Quick op to staple everything back where it should be and Bob's yer uncle and Fanny's yer aunt, best thing I ever did.

First Tom Tit after the op was a woozy though, I was in a right two and eight!! :-(

I quite agree. However Aaron did inform me that you chaps only post this s**t in here to "wind me up". So you are all involved now

Pete I don't post anything anywhere to wind anyone up, you should know me better than that. The fact that you think that makes me sad.

lol. Is anything entirely true or is everything not entirely true? Also, if something isn't absolutely false is it still not entirely true?

To quote a great man I once knew "is it false, or is it true, the answer my friend is up to you"

That was an impressive answer young Wiggers. I applaud your dedication to typing. I wholly agree with your sentiments. We just need to be certain of what we need to do. As always I will go with the majority. How much dumb-bell usage there is with weightlifters present will be a consideration. If the heavies are stacked where the Smith machine was, they will be used there as no-one will be interested in carrying them far. And the WLers won't want said users gruntin' and gaspin' in front of them

Haha, the length of reply was as a result of me being on the laptop for once rather than on my phone (as I am now)

We do indeed to discuss and agree the best approach

We talked about that. But the problem we had was were to put the dumbbells. The rubber metric ones could go into the other room but all the imperial, metal ones were the problem. There isn't the space in the other room, and where the smith machine was would mean they would get used there and interfere with the view of the WLers. Unless Joe and I were missing something obvious it didn't look easy. Best thing is to have a discussion one night. Where there's a will, there's a way

The discussion at the last committee meeting around this was that the vast majority of the dumbbells in the main room are either duplicated in the bodybuilding room, or are unused. The consensus was that other than retaining a smaller selection of the heavier dumbbells (for the use of lads that train outside regular club hours, the extent of which was unknown), we would look to either relocate, or put into storage the vast majority of them. This would free up more space in the main room for the clubs competitive powerlifters / weightlifters, who it was agreed should be the priority.

As a suggestion, one possible configuration for where the smith machine once stood would be to have a small dumbbell rack (there is a 3 foot-ish one) with a selection of heavier dumbbells, and the second bench (which can also be used as an incline), this would give an extra benching station, and ways of using the remaining dumbbells making better use of the space than the smith machine was giving. Importantly it would also then free up a station between the squats racks and the main bench, which could used for deadlifts etc.

Removal of the dumbbells from the corner where they are currently would then allow the currently make shift weightlifting platform to be shuffled more into the corner and become a proper platform. Surplus dumbbells then being either relocated in the bodybuilding room (space permitted), and/or put in storage in the back room of the changing room (in storage but still accessible).

This is just one possible configuration, I am sure there are many more that would be workable.

One thing for sure is that we are seriously struggling for space at the moment so we need to do something.
