It's a shame Mark is having to sell this kit. Yep, the 350kg tyre is nice. Those farmers are pretty good. They've got thick smooth handles. I tried up to 90kg with them a couple of times and then in comp I used 90kg with 1" handles-seemed easy compared to Marks, so they're worth getting too.

Thought you'd be buying the log Pete! May turn out cheaper than the chunk of forrest you have at home Happy

Ha ha. My big brown log is the same weight and diameter, and smells nicer! Just need to add loading bars now.

cheers JC , pete - im not expecting to do well , might get a few reps out on the log (if it stays in) but the rest ..... ill be average at best !!

I'll fail the log and hope to be close to average on the rest, ha ha. Oh well, it's all experience. I'll have had more events training in comps than in training after this!

Good luck to you too Dave! Nail that overhead medley mate!

Just read through most of this thread. Ste, you are obviously a complete nutter! And seriously strong with it. Hope you get back to full strength and beyond soon. Good luck at the comp. I've only trained at HHH a few times so never met you there. Do you train at a gym in Preston too? Which one? I agree with everyone else, get some food in yer, and get up to 90kg+. You're already a monster, become a bigger stronger one dude!
Good video of the comp last year, excellent performance. Was that big Mark helping reload the superyoke when the barrels fell off?
Good luck for the future.

I know I'm new to this forum, but I already got the impression you don't need any help with your jerk!
JC, you didn't already know what a flesh light is? Probably not a good thing that I did though.

Who's Iceman? I bet it's easy for him to make weight-5 mins in a sauna should lose 10kg of water!

ha ha.
Yeah, it's a shame, I'd only just found out about it, and I only live 15 minutes away! Goddamn it!!

Just read through this log Ben. Good work at the natural comp and good luck for the Worlds! I've trained at HHH a few times but only on Fridays so not met you. Mind you, with ginger Al already there it might be too much gingerness to cope with if you were there too! Grin I'll be keeping an eye on this log from now on.

Put a rope on the truck pull just for me PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think there is a rope for the truck pull, at least that's what I've heard.

I think it's ok in the comp I'm doing. As long as it gets overhead its ok. Probably more strict in more well known/bigger comps maybe?

Cheers for the advice everyone. I'll take it on board and see what happens. TBH I'm not really expecring to manage 95kg in 3 weeks but I'll give it a bash and continue improving for the future. Anyone use a double dip technique for log pressing?

Good to see you Friday Doc! Good pressing mate, always nice to get a pb! Good luck for the comp. You should get the overhead stuff, the added adrenaline from the comp atmosphere will help too!

Cool, hopefully see you there. Who are you, have I met you there before?

I would advise

Session 1 (say Monday/Tuesday) - Push Press & Strict Press

Session 2 (Sat) - Log & Boards

My log pressing was at its strongest when I was doing boards weekly

Cheers JC. What do you mean by boards? Board bench press for tri strength?

Decent lifts Richards.

Thing, I've only access to my homemade log (oo-er) at the moment. I don't have any other equipment. I may possibly train at Mark Haydocks tomorrow and practice superyoke and sled, but that'll be it for event training.
