Just home from the competition.

It was an excellent day with some great efforts from all the competitors. Once I get the score sheets I will post them on here. But for now, the top three places were:

1st - Iain Wood
2nd - Eben Van Wyk
3rd - Junior

Once a gain a massiv e thank you to all the competitors and helpers on the day.

Update to follow.

Thanks to everyone involved in today's comp, great effort all round.

Well felt strong enough today but speed & fitness was poor & cost me.

Highlight was joint 1st on the dead lift with 13reps, don't know where that came from but felt comfy.

Press completed all 4 objects but not fast

Dead lift 13reps

Yoke full distance but again slow

Medley block easy enough & 90kg stone ok but wrecked by the time I got to the chain & really didn't want to drag it lol. Managed a few metres.

Tyre 4flips & fitness went so no more

Stones up to the 120 but back & legs gone by now.

Felt strong today but the lesson is fitness count a lot.

The weather looked a bit ropey as we were setting the equipment up but thankfully it stayed dry. Although the sun did come out, it didn't stay for long but this didn't stop all the competitors having a great day competing.

Event 1 was the press medley and nearly all the competitors pressed all the objects. The top times were all very quick, and it seemed to be the dumbell that split the times.

Event 2 was deadlift for reps with some amazing totals on show. The top guys pulling in excess of 12 reps it was good entertainment. With no straps or suits allowed it was a real test of power and endurance.

Event 3 was the yoke race for time and this proved to be a little more taxing on some of the guys but also some quick times from the top competitors on the day.

Event 4 was the medley. There were some amazing efforts here with very few guyts finishing the event. The granite block and atlas stone seemed to trouble few guys but the chain drag was a real point splitter and proved very tough for some.

Event 5 was the tyre flip for reps. Another good one for the crowd with some great performances from the guys. The top three guys all sharing the same total of flips showing a little home advantage with a tricky tyre.

Event 6 was the stones over the yoke. The cold weather didn't help the tacky but everyone still gave their all and really pushed hard till the end. A few guys managing to put the 133kg stone over and even taking the 144kg to their knees bud sadly no one finishing off all the stones.

Congratulations to all the competitors once again and thanks to Broch Iron Gym for the trophies and medals.

I have a copy of the final score sheet but I don't know how to post pictures up here, so if someone enlightens me, I will gladly post it up.

Another great comp thanks to all competitors, spectators and organisers.

Larry's already covered the events and the thank you's. But he forgot to thank the guys who helped tidy up at the end of the day. Especially those who had also competed for the whole day. Was a pleasant sight to see the guys mucking in loading up the trailer. Made the tidying up a whole lot quicker and easier.

thanks guys. And hopefully see you again next year

Keith
