whats up with u90k strongman

Only 5 names down for the northen qualifier , 7 for the midlands dont know about the southern but the competition thread has been very quiet. Is the golden time of u90k strongman over?

2 or 3 years ago comps like St Ives and Olympic dragons where attracting large numbers of competitors with lots of reserves , I remember St Ives 2011 was fully booked with every competitor payed up on the day it was announced. Where's everyone gone?

what do you think is stopping people signing up for the regional qualifiers?

are the comps too heavy and are putting new people off,is it the recession and people cant afford to travel?

do you think it will die out if the regional comps dont start attracting more numbers?

Euros is kinda annoying for me . Cos I wana go again but sending only 1 guy from England ? (I'm discounting the giants live qualifier ... It's to light to be a qualifier for heaviest comp of the year!!)

Seems stupid when the best talent is here ... If 6 of the top 12 in Europe are English then so what? Shape up everyone else !

Not a bad idea is it really... it's almost like a real recognised sport, not many of us do one of those!

I dont think any of the quals have ever had massive numbers really?

Dragons was always packed as it caters for such mixed abilities

IMO dont think it helps for participateion that the national comps are already won before they even started

why only 1 , didnt 3 go last year? surely they have to recognise the talent pool in England. Mind you if no one does the qualifiers that argument id nullified.

I think all qualifiers had 15+ names one year, and last year (was it last year?) only midlands had under 10.

northern 90s was very big field last year wasn't it?

No dragons/St Ives is a big hit for people who want to have fun. Im not strong enough for the qualifiers so theres no other comps really.

A lot of people have been injured or quit lately. One thing to notice is the number of guys in the scottish comp, tons of them!

Also the northerns has the same dull events as its had for 3 odd years. That and its miles away.

Why did Clegg leave the sport? Clegg was cool.
