king_mob said:breakfast - green tea and creatine

mid morning - massive bowl of gluten free oatmeal or sometimes buckwheat made with soymilk, 1 tbsp milled flaxseed, 2x one-a-day multivitamins and 2x algae dha tabs

postworkout - 4 heaped tbsp pea protein mixed with oj (tastes pretty naff so working on other combinations), 2 bananas

lunch - 4 cups green lentils mixed with harissa and olive oil, 1 whole avocado diced

dinner - weird mexican spicy rice thing made from 1 tin black beans, 2 cups white rice, 1 onion & 1 pepper, shed loads of olive oil

Like the sound of your menu. Have you tried Reflex's Vegan Protein? It comes in different flavours and is much better
than plain.Currently using Strawberry flavour for breakfast blend it with water raspberries and/or banana, half cup oats, tbsp peanut butter and ground flaxseed. Very tasty.

3 squares a day and a big shake after training.

Each meal is made up of some variation of the following:

protein: eggs/ beef/ lamb/ chicken/ pork/ fish/ mince
carbs: rice/ potato/ sweet potato
veggies: onion/ carrot/ beans/ cabbage/ spinach/ peppers/ tomato/ lentils
Fats to cook: lard/ butter/ coconut oil/ ghee
Bit of fruit on side.

Pretty much everything i make is home cooked but I tend to make a truck load at a time and don't mind having the same meal 3 times in a day.

Breakfast, Mackeral or Kippers on two slices wholemeal toast. Cup of coffee.
Lunch, Chicken Saled sandwich, or similar.
Pre workout, Tuna Steak with Pasta and steamed veg. Strong coffee.
Evening, Banana, couple of oranges.

This is about 1200 calories per day and got me from 20 stone 9 pounds to 16 stone ish in about 12 months. I am about to add approx 500 calories per day as I want to start putting a little bit of muscle mass back on.

Nothing wrong with meat and two veg smalls, I could not do that diet you are doing BUT I can see it working. Stick with it and it will pay off.

Far too much acid going in your bodies, even those who think they are eating relatively good are not alkalizing your system. It's the key to performance and weight loss/gain goals.

The optimal pH for our bodies is more alkaline than acidic, i.e. we function better: grow more; shed more fat; have more energy; better health overall. So need to eat more alkaline forming foods, than acid forming foods. Just by doing this alone you can change your body.

You were still correct until we got to this point

Then you were wrong. Sorry if I come across as rude but in evolutionary terms as a species we would be completely made of fail if the above were true. The whole "alkaline diet" thing for better health, curing cancer, preventing disease, list goes on has been firmly debunked

He's right

At a 80/20 ratio is best

I drink far to much diet sodas to care about this though. Sweeteners are the DEVIL

Oh and I don't know much on the subject just read a few articles but some say 60/40 some 75/25 and others different all in favor of alkaline but I pay little to no attention seems another way of saying "eat more fruit and veg" to me '

Back when we were cavemen, we ate alot alkaline forming foods - fruit, nuts, seeds, fish, plants etc, a lot of it would have been raw to. It is not about a fad diet, or new craze it's scientific fact that our bodies are meant to be alkaline. Our systems do not know how to cope with all this processed, acid forming food. I am not saying it will cure cancer what I am saying is if your body is functioning at its optimum and running on the fuel it was designed to use it will lipolise quicker and will grow better. I don't just read this stuff I put it into practice on myself and clients. Over the last 14 days I have eaten more food in terms of calories, but they have been more alkaline forming and nothing processed and I have dropped bodyfat and put on lean tissue, and have more energy. I have changed nothing else other than the type of food and concentrated on its pH value. You don't come across as rude. just uneducated on the subject matter.
