Sorry if i havent been commenting much on other peoples journals - dont really get much chance to get on here at the moment. | ||

When i trained purely for strength i always used to train low reps and not a lot of assistance work. Since bodybuilding i never do anything less than 8 reps with most of my sets being 10-12 with the odd drop sets of 20+ when im feeling fired up. Because im bodybuilding and training a lot of exercises i havent before im strengthing muscles i neglected in the past. For example when i used to train legs i would squat then move onto bench in the same session. Now i do squats, leg press, GHR, leg extentions and calf raises all at high reps so obviously my legs are getting a lot more work then before. | ||

Heading over to Junction Gym next Tuesday to train with Robbo, Ollie, Gra & crew. Planning on maybe a squat PB attempt, some deads and maybe log etc. | ||

Squats - Belt Only 10x60kg 5x80kg 1x100kg 1x120kg 1x140kg 1x160kg 1x180kg 1x200kg Fx220kg Fx210kg The fails werent a million miles away - been ill the past few days so have lost 2-3kg in BW which may have had a bearing on the fails. 200+ will go by end of the year. 18" Deadlifts 3x60kg 3x100kg 3x140kg 1x180kg 1x220kg 1x240kg 1x260kg Fx280kg Apollons Axle 1x105kg 1x105kg Fx115kg Fx115kg Failed the clean on the 115s - purely down to lack of practice more than anything else. Was great to catch up with Robbo & Gra and good to meet Steve. Wasnt expecting fireworks today given my time away from events & deadlifting etc but went for a bit of fun more than anything else. | ||

Think im better at repping - not overally bothered about a max at the moment anyway. More squatting & legs last night - thinking of re-introducing deads this week too: Squats - Belt Only 10x60kg 8x80kg 5x100kg 5x120kg 5x145kg 5x165kg 5x185kg Leg Press 20x280kg 15x320kg 12x360kg Followed by GHR, seated calf raises, leg curls & standing calf raises. Goal for end of the year is 200x5 belt only which should in theory give me a max of 200+. | ||
