This Morning Been To See The Surgeon who did my surgery,

he told me what they did during the surgery.. which was nice to know!

In "Laymens Terms"

There Is 2 muscles that hold the knee cap in the correct place!

when they realized the patella was offset they sliced one of the muscles off, to make it stronger? anyone ever had this?

Anyone Know any Recovery time? any tips or things to avoid? ECT ECT !

Thankyou please!

Ask your surgeon for a proper physio protocol for the early stages, dont rely on a normal NHS physio without a proper protocol from the orthopedics dept. They may not know what is best. I got really bad advice from physios a couple of times and am wary of seeing them at all now.

Try to get the medical definition of what you have had done and read up on it a lot, it is worth fully understanding what has acutally been done. This will help you decide in your own mind what should help later on.

Remember to work on balance and stability around the knee. This will be a foundation to regaining strength

Agreed, whatever you do, don't rush it. I did that after my first knee surgery and ended up doing more damage, and back where I was before.

If you don't have insurance but really kneed (lol) to know what's going on, then pony up £150-200 and go and see an awesome specialist privately.

I really despise not training!

It's killing me!

BUT!! I'm going to get it sorted 100% before trying to train on it!

Training can and should be part of your rehab, at sensible weights and the right stages.

it is why lots of research and talking to the right people is so important.

If you get sent to see a physio at your local hospital chances are they will have no concept of what you are describing when you talk about training and wont be able to help in the slightest with what you can include other than what is on a sheet of paper they have been given.

During my shoulder rehab I had a physio that had never done any kind of training and didn't know what any of the exercises I asked about were, which was no help at all. I eventually did research online, and wrote to my concultant for a new rehap protocol which I followed myself
