Member 18, 5295 posts SQ 185, BP 130, DL 230545.0 kgs @ 95kgs UnEq | Sorry for the lack of updates/info on this comp, but it is now confirmed, events as below, and to be held on Sunday 29th May at Unit Fitness, Unit 1 Avondale House, Strathclyde Business Park, Bellshill, ML4 3NJ. 1 - Max Axle - rising bar, starting weight 80kg. 10kg increments up to 100kg then up in 5's. Athletes must lift every weight. One fail and out. Belt cleans ok. 2 - Deadlift 220 for reps in 75 secs - normal oly bar, normal sized plates. Suits allowed. Straps allowed. 3 - Farmers/Duck Walk Medley - 15m with 120kg farmers, and 15m with 180kg duck walk. 75second time limit. 4 - Squat - 160/170/180/190/200 - rising weight squat, one rep each weight, bar stays on back. Time limit 60secs. 5 - Farmers Hold - 135kg for time. 6 - 53kg circus DB for reps in 75 secs. Floor to overhead every rep. Deadlift, hold, and DB will run head to head. Closing date for £15 entry fee is 23rd April. Belt cleans - in the classic, we try and mimic the arnolds as closely as possible, so no belt cleans. In 90's, it's unlikely if axle was in the British, they'd say no to them, so we try and maintain consistency when possible. Plus 90's are skinnys and stuggle with continentals without belt cleans sometimes. I love loading, but coz it's in Nick's gym, it's not really doable. We're restricted space-wise and also with what events we can do. Though Yoke/Duck might be feasible, if it's one at a time. Will need to check that actually, would probably be better. | ||
