Went in today very happily to perform some upper body s**t. Other work was some light deadlifty stuff because I'm feeling f**king great this weather.
The gym was getting pretty quiet by the time we got there which was good as this meant we could deadlift, dropping the weight to the floor instead of having to be semi careful. I like the floor in there and enjoy lifting on the sticky stable matting much more than on the platforms because the bar doesn't bounce and I feel like I have excellent traction. The session went as follows.

LIGHT CONVENTIONAL DEADLIFTS (Emphasizing hip thrust)
5 sets of 3 quickish reps (for me) at 120kg

CHEST SUPPORTED T BAR ROWS
3 or 4 sets of 5 reps with 60kg on the bar

SEATED DUMBELL PRESS
1 set of 8 slow reps with 20kg dumbells
1 set of 6 reps with 22kg dumbells
1 set of 5 reps with 22kg dumbells

SIDE RAISES (HA HA)
2 sets of 6? slow reps with 9kg

CONCLUSION
This was a nice easy workout just the way it was supposed to be. I felt incredibly strong tonight with the deads and really struggled to resist putting more weight on the bar for a single. I just felt so upbeat today.

VIDEO
Tonights video is my last set of deadlifts with 120kgs.

Went out today on the hills in the snow. We walked and climbed until it got dark and then walked and climbed some more.
This is why I do it all. The endurance, cardio and the lifting. At the end of the day it all comes down to this. It was beautiful outside. It was so cold that you'd freeze to any metal you touched and so cold that any water coming into contact your person would become ice nearly as soon as it touched you.
I better myself for this.

Video explains. Too tired to type.

Was supposed to be maybe going for a wee swim yesterday to work on my conditioning but I was side tracked by the water being off in my house etc, so I ended up going to my mates mums to grab some proteins in the form of boxing day dinner. They put on a really really great meal.

My pal Stu (climbing partner and oldest mate) and I headed for a few tipples and he ended up taking me to our local rock club "The Cathouse" which many of you will well know.
Tonight was a little more interesting than usual as the video will show.
Enjoy lads, and Merry Christmas Happy

Was supposed to be squatting tonight.

It's not happening. My auld maw raised myself and my brothers to be clairvoyants but neglected to mention to us at any time (probably why she ignored us from after we were pulled kicking and screaming from her murky womb until present time). As a result of this, I'm now not squatting tonight as I have to deal with the catchup from her telepathic communications over distances and times untold.
f**kin' yaldi. Isn't it great when your auld maw is bats**t crazy Roll-Eyes

Fun times ahead in the next couple of hours.

I had a great rest over the last few days and came to training feeling strong.

Wide stance squats
4 sets of 5 reps with 85kg (Set 2 included in video)

Narrow stance squats
1 set of 30 reps with 77.5kg (Included in video)

Semi Sumo Deadlift
1 set of 5 reps with 130kg (Included in video)

Chinups
3 sets of 5 reps at bodyweight.

Conclusion
Went in feeling strong today. The weights were just flying all over the room and I'm beginning to feel a little more comfortable doing the wide squatting.
The 30 rep set felt good and mechanical. Wasn't breathing all that hard after the set and will happily be upping the weight to 80kg next week with a final hoped goal of 100kg by the time I die.
Deadlifts, felt light and easy but I forgot all about form and just pretty much pulled the thing without thinking about what I was doing. Might end up badgering Ross for tips in the near future.
Chins felt pretty fast and light which was intended.

Video with great soundtrack (as usual)

Squats are looking strong and deep. Easy 100 there in the not too distant mate Wink

Your lifting was looking really good yesterday buddy. Also excellent soundtrack for the video! Grin

Thanks guys. I'm feeling a bit stronger over the Christmas Happy Just gotta keep it going.

Here's a video of some vandalism I spotted on the ground when I was in Glasgow. I thought it was pretty funny and random so here I am sharing this little nugget of comedy gold.

I brought the 25kg sandbag out of retirement for some Thursday night conditioning.

The session went as follows.

30 burpee squat thrusters
10 cleans to chest
10 shoulderpress
10 highbag squats
10 bag rows
10 lunges
10 alternate bag to shoulder
10 shoulderpress
10 highbag squats
10 bag rows
10 lunges

I felt pretty nasty after this session tonight....I must be doing it right.

Here's the video of the session.

That looks like a knackering session! How long were you taking as a break between the excercises?

Hey dude.
Yeah it tired me out pretty good.
I started with 1 minutes rest and it got progressively longer. I think it was about 90 seconds plus between rounds 4 and 5 where I did the complexes and I reckon I was at around maximum heart rate by the end.

A lighter day using light bodyweight exercises

500 rep workout
5 rounds of
10 pushoff chinups
20 pushups
30 crunches
40 bodyweight squats
1 minutes rest

Here's round 5 in video (lasts around 2 minutes?)

I enjoyed doing this. It got the blood moving and wasn't too intense although it got the heart pumping pretty good by the end. I think I'm gonna try it every Friday.

that conditioning drill looks hard, props for getting through it
