similar kind of stuff are in many comps though, carry some anvil, or conans wheel or what ever else.

Conans wheel is cool, but just some object carry for distance is one of my least favourite events, both as a competetor and as a spectator.

aye, 182kg would be a bit too heavy Grin

I don't think weight is as much of an issue as size. The unit used to have a shield which was either 90k or doubled to 180. The 90 I walked 120m with quite quickly. Couldn't even pick up 180 cause my arms were too short and I couldn't hold onto it

that's going with the logic if your u90 you should have short arms

I was thinking 100kg would be a good starting point, and if it goes well and it is abit light i can always make a heavier one. Not sure who John Strange is... is that his username?

We had a stone carry at the IAWA stone lifting comp last year, I think it was 115-120kg, I think that would be a decent start weight... but as other have said a lot depends on how awkward it is, not just the weight.

like carl just said we had a forklift tyre with plate in the middle of it loaded to 115kg's an a few walked it over 80+ meters !! it wasn't really the weight that hindered them but the sheer size/shape of the tyre !! looked great !!

Well the idea is to make it a tombstone shape, so i would assume thats going to be fairly hard because of the shape.
