You guys seem genuinely offended. You should write a strongly worded letter to someone about something.

I'm gutted and on 24 hour watch lol

DiD Ed lock it out? I didn't want to bring it up, but looked borderline. Fast as f**k though.

I don't care either way, but I don't see how Thor's rep was worse than a lot of things you see in strongman, including most of Z's log records.

Congratulations to Ed Hall. He's done twice what most believed he couldn't; first with the 500 deadlift and now with winning WSM.
His improvement in moving events is unbelievable and his willpower is unstoppable.

He trully is the world's strongest man for 2017! A very deserved victory!

P.S.: he definetly locked out his deadlift. Thor didn't lock out his last rep in Viking. No need for lame excuses guys! Ed's the new Champion! Shaw will come back, he's far from done yet, and I do think he'll win a 5th title in the future. That's just my 2c.

Very interesting point from strength asylum on FB

Eddie Halls Stone run .....

There's lots of b**ching and moaning about a questionable decision on Thors Viking Press after his final rep was disallowed. But from this video, although the angles not brilliant, you can clearly see Edd was way ahead of Brian going into the last stone but then waited to see if Brian did it as to whether he needed to do it .
The point being if Thors rep had been allowed Edd would have known he needed to beat Shaw , he wouldn't have waited for him to finish first , Edd would have taken 2nd in the stones instead of just the 4th place , he would have collected 2 more points and he would have taken the win anyway !

Eddie Hall is the Worlds Strongest Man , he said he'd do it , he's done it , stop b**ching and get over it

Any update on Shaw, was he injured or just tired?
Anyone else think the Thor post is a bit of panto rivalry like McGregor Vs Alvarez? It'll give the tabloids a story to go with Eds win either way.

I wanna see Licis win it in the coming years, probably my favourite strongman right now.

L9oking at it with fresh eyes.... it looks like a dodgy lock out on Thor's final rep. Haven't seen Eddie's deadlift.

Eddie would have no doubt found one more rep on the Viking OR gone one pace higher on stones if Thor had been given his last rep. "Robbed" was serious hyperbole from Thor, much as I hope he wins it next year.

So pleased for Mr Hall!

Moving away from the drama, what are peoples thoughts on the rest of the field?

Another solid result for JF, once again showing he is one of the best.
Awesome result for Licis, could be a serious podium threat next year.
Plane pull was an awesome result for Mateusz, if the overhead event had involved a clean he may well have made top 5.
Decent if unspectacular showing from Loz, after his previously injuries though im glad to see him get through the whole comp unscathed, sets him up well for next year.

I think the depth at the moment right at the top end is poor. Nobody can really get near the big 3. The battle between say the 4th down to the 20th strongest in the world is ridiculously tight though.

Licis could do great things if he stays focused. Is already well rounded. Just needs to improve a little bit on everything.

The only question remaining is will Eddie follow the traditional retired WSM path into Strictly Come Dancing.

Z made a comment about being back next year bigger and stronger.

I'd love to see Z get a full years training under his belt and stay injury free. One last hurrah would be great.

Shaw is an interesting one, and has made no comments yet post comp. It does seem he had some kind of injury but Thors rants have completely overshadowed it.

I wonder how it will be mentioned in the airing of the show. Thor was clearly pissed off on the podium, and emotions running high.
