Seems a bit unfair since they were bigging up eddies injury the whole show last time. He said it cost him the title so... you could kind of compare that with thor if people wanna say eddie never whined. Amazing performance no doubt last year. Doesn't matter now though.

I have an opportunity to troll, but keep it sensible.

Ed did mention his injury, but it was his crazy fans saying it cost him. Oh and of course the show mentioned it once or twice.

Brian wouldn't have won anyway. His plane pull was before deadlift.

Anyway hope Thor comes back next year.

Injuries happen in the sport. These guys push their bodies to the limit. No matter what I say on here, I respect all athletes.

I wondered if there was a possibility he would choose not to compete due to his beef with the organisers. Or he might not be invited back after his social media outburst.

I don't know how he can be invited back after basically calling Colin a cheat and causing so much bad publicity to the contest. It's a shame as I really like the guy and wanted him to win one day.

But congratulations to Eddie, I don't care what anyone says he deserved to win. If anything I think some of the event changes hindered him. If the first event had kept the drag part then I think Eddie would of got another 2 points as body weight helps alot. Count back now unfairly being done on the fastest atlas stones and not event wins helps quicker guys like Thor and Shaw. There was no conspiracy, the strongest man won.

Just read that the tape of thors Viking press was watched back by all judges at his request, and they stand by the decision all as one. Cant complain after that surely

No report on BBC news...

Guess what, yes, I have spent the whole day complaining and hijacking the comments on the BBC website...which keep getting removed.

I shall continue to make a show of myself. Roll-Eyes

I wouldn't expect them to break ranks. Anyway, does WSM even have a proper appeal process of some sort, and have they ever overturned a decision before? As far as I can tell the judge's decision at the time stands, end of.

I've lost my pen again, quite by coincidence.

True story that, too.

Surely all he would need to do is watch it back himself after he's chilled out a bit. He clearly didn't wait for the down signal on one rep and the last was for sure a double dip. He was borderline double dipping on a bunch of reps as well. The problem was that he wasn't bending at the hip but just pushing his knees forward. Still lowering himself under the weight but its harder to see. Of course he is frustrated, keeps getting second, but end of the day the rules are the rules, judges often no rep viking presses, its common. He should have raised ed's hand and looked to next year.

I'm not say that Eddie doesn't deserve to win WSM but I think there need to be changes made to the people running the show and how the whole thing is marketed, for me they are looking after their own bank balance rather than bringing the event out of the darkness.

Does anybody know why Brian and Thor near walked off after the deadlift?

Or was that a rumour?

Rumour at this stage. Only they know, and the other guys there.

Perhaps Terry can shed some light on it?
