Tyre flip/sandbag 300 * 5/100 * 25m - 2 runs. Farmers walk 95 * 25m, 135 * 25m, 155 * 15m - grip failed. Doh apollons axle 135 * 5 + 5s hold - 3 sets. Not a bad session, but nothing spectacular. The tyre into sandbag had me blowing hard, will work this weekly now. Deload the next 6 days, so probably just 2 light training sessions between now and next sundays event session. | ||

Farmers walk 95 * 12m, 135 * 12m, 155 * 12m. Sandbag over yoke 100 * 5, 5. Sandbag carry/over yoke/carry 100 * 12m/2/12m, 12m/4/12m. Worked hard today. Back was suffering by the time i finished yoke, hadnt planned to do so many runs, but wanted to make sure i did a good run on all my heavy sets. Sandbag work was this weeks conditioning as i couldn't really use the tyre in the rain. | ||

Felt very rusty tonight, not worked these exercises properly for 2 months and boy did it show, bar path was shocking. Happy with the volume of work i got through though, and confident the weights will go up weekly as my skill returns. | ||

Not a bed session tonight, front squats felt a bit heavy, but no real danger of failure (other than my grip slipping the first set, hence only 3 reps). Speed squats moved well, bar was getting a little air at the top of the rep. Deadlifts on the cards for tomorrow. | ||

Beltless deficit deadlifts 200 * 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Fairly happy with todays session, weights felt a little heavy but got through all the reps i planned. Followed up with an hours physio, now i pretty much intend just to lie around and maybe stretch a little from now till sunday. Even got a day off from the wife tomorrow as she is at a baby shower. Woooo. | ||

Duck walk Up to 190 * 20m. Sandbag (drop and turn @20m) 100 * 40m, 100 * 30m - nothing at all left in the tank. I was in rough shape today and looking forward to a day of rest, but as im no longer training tomorrow events was bumped up. Trained with Sugdens own, Super boy Paul Smith. Had a pretty decent session considering the state i was in, and a thoroughly enjoyable day with one of my favourite guys in the sport. | ||

Not a bad session today, though nothing spectacular. Squats felt a little rough due to some pain in my knee. Axle deads were just to try out the figure 8 straps, felt a little tight across the wrist, but gave me a solid grip on the axle so they are fit for purpose. Conditioning and grip work were fairly standard, though the final set of sandbag was very hard work, definitely got the lungs working. | ||

Hugely long day at work today so no energy for anything else. Briefly considered doing squats afterwards but only did a few singles with 180 and the knee pain was fairly unpleasant, no idea why as front squats were fine. If it persists next week i will bring it up with my physio. Massage in the morning and then speed deadlifts. | ||

Safety bar speed squats 160 * 2, 2, 2, 2 200 * 1, 1. Prowler 15m arm over arm/15m push +80 - 2 runs 15m prowler drag/15m push/15m drag - ridiculous thigh pump. Reasonably content with todays session. Log work was done on a thin strength shop log, really awful to clean, but pressing felt strong enough, will be alternating log and db now as i have both coming up over the next couple of months. Squats felt much faster today, and minimal knee pain. Prowler was by far the biggest sled ive ever seen, even with just 4 plates on it felt pretty hefty. The final set gave me a ridiculous quad pump and left me floored for 10 mins waiting to be able to use my thighs again. | ||
