100 x 5,
140 x 3.

Paused bench press

Farmers walk, drop and turn @ 15m

65 x 20m,
110 x 30m,
110 x 60m.

Good session today, axle deads felt good, finally getting comfortable pulling from that height.
Strict press and paused fronts both felt fine, extra reps there on all sets if I'd wanted to push it. New Do Wins felt great, look forward to seeing how they hold up to bigger weights once I start building up again.
Bench was surprisingly comfortable, first time I've done conventional bench instead of close grip for a long time. Wouldn't usually train it, but since its in the Max Power comp in feb I think i'll start training it, after today I'm thinking I may even be able to equal my PB of 180 once feb rolls around.
Farmers were nice and light, though after 60m for the final set breathing was an issue, though grip was fine and legs were only a little wobbly.

125 x clean only.

Deadlift - belt only, no straps

240 x 2,
260 x 2.

Paused squats

220 x 2,
220 x 2.

Yoke

110 x 24m,
270 x 24m,
270 x 48m.

Disappointed to fail the log press twice today, but it really wasn't even close, just couldnt generate the leg drive, the first of my 120 was a terrible grinder.
Deadlifts and squats were both typical of what training will look like for the next 4 weeks, doubles at around 75-85%.
Yoke was comfortable, thinking 270 has became a bit too easy as a training weight so will be working with 310 for the foreseeable future.

Happy with the session, though the final set of axle deadlifts felt very heavy. Opted to finish with a little pump work simply because I haven't done any for a while, and b**ches love pumped delts.

Squats, rows, and back accessory are the plan for tomorrow.

Hammer curls - 2 sets of 12.

Seated calf raises - 2 sets of 15.

Not a bad session, but not great. Everything up to and including the front squats felt strong, but conventional squats felt very heavy and slow, had hoped to work up to a single at around 260, but no chance at all I'd have got back up under that much weight today, a combination of back soreness from yesterday, and the amount of work I'd done pre squats I suspect.

Not really sure what to do tomorrow, likely get a little event work in, and take another crack at squats.

Deadlifts

180 x 1,
180 x 3,
180 x 3,
180 x 3,
180 x 10.

Happy with todays session. Felt a right dick after bailing on the 125 log, so the adrenaline was really going, and the 2nd attempt went up very easily.
Was very surprised with how easy the final set of deadlifts were, almost pushed on to see how many i could get (current pb is 15), but remembered i'm supposed to be taking it easy, so stopped at the planned 10. And miraculously wasnt even short of breathe.

Gym is shut tomorrow, so off now till friday. All the best for the new year folks.

Fairly short session today, and nothing terribly heavy. Got a couple of event sessions lined up for the weekend, so didnt want to push hard at all today. Weights all felt very comfortable, and the 120 push press actually equals my PB, so happy to get that without too much effort, should get round to a BW push press before long.

Nice light session, the log was horrid, at least as bad as the Hulks giant log, and quite possibly worse, similar style, but much closer handles.
Deadlift was just a play weight, very comfortable.
Yoke was great, one of the most comfortable I've used, a little disappointed I never timed any of the runs, but they were certainly among the fastest runs I've ever done.

^^ This was a 'new' one he's just had made. Essentially the same as hulks log, but only half as long, so handles where inside shoulder width, very very easy to clean, but damned hard to find balance and maintain it through the press. Wouldn't have fancied myself for making a 120 on it today.

130 x 20m,
140 x 20m + 5s hold at conclusion - PB.

A very laid back session after yesterday, legs and lower back were very stiff, so decided to stick to pressing, and then added farmers in to finish.
Originally the plan was to do 110 farmers for distance, but the first run was horrid so I abandoned that plan. Surprisingly however the runs got much better once I upped to 130 (probably because that was heavy enough to force me to pay attention and do things right) so I stuck with that, and then after a couple of very comfortable runs I decided I'd push on a little more and shoot for a PB, previous best was 135 x 15m, but that was a while back so knew I was good for more. Started off quite slow, but grip was holding strong at the half way mark so I started to speed up, this made keeping a solid grip trickier, but not excessively difficult. Confident that I could handle such a weight at full speed for about 30m before I had to consider dropping, but the goal is to get comfortable with at least 150 a hand.

Deadlifts and variations there of on the cards for tomorrow.

Hoping the legs will be in better shape tomorrow so i can get some squats done, dont think ive done any for about a week now.

What a piss poor session, though it wasn't a huge surprise, late night yesterday has had me tired all day, thankfully once I finish this post i'll be straight to bed.
Front squats weren't bad, though a little harder than they should have been. Couldn't find the groove on about half of the conventional squats. Strict log felt heavy, and failing a 110 log was f**king ridiculous, screwed up the clean, so had to mong that up, then twice failed to get the press above head height, never mind to lockout. Oh well, tomorrow is a new day, goodnight gentleman.
