What is it? Much different from the original 5/3/1? Worth looking at?

Beyond 531 is a new chapter in training. It has all the tools you need to push the boundaries of strength, intensity, frequency and the quest for a new personal record.

This book allow you to expand your training program to fit your goals and training style. It has new templates and variations for every lifter that is looking for an edge. This book pushes the 5/3/1 program in every direction with one goal - to get stronger.

I enjoyed beyond 531 and IMO it's worth getting. I think it seems to move away from 531 slightly with things like joker sets and first sets last.
I'm not currently using 531 but will prob go back to it at some point and when I do I'll be using things from this book.

I've done all versions of 531 and the joker sets and 1st set last from Beyond 531 have been the most affective for me so far. It has quite a lot of interesting templates and ideas in it.

The layout of the book is shocking though.

I'm glad it wasn't just me that thought this. It looks terrible haha.

Thankfully strength doesn't have to be pretty and the content is actually pretty solid. I like where he was coming from with the book - it's less a program and more a load of great training ideas.

There's a lot in there for different goals, levels, and preferences. Fun reading and gets you thinking about different ways to do things.

I think that its ok for people with a few years experience as they should know there body quite well by then, for beginners though its too much and they would be best sticking to the original.

I do think its a bit of a copoff though because he basically jst uses every other idea out there and adds 531 to it, e.g. daily maxing and german volume training with a 531 theme to it.

If this was suggested on other forums when the original program came out it would of been thought as a stupid idea and you would be told to stick to the original plan even as an intermediate lifter.
