I can see how it would be enjoyable as a competitor. I'm only ever going to be in the audience, and suppose I like to watch a mix of moving and static events. For me that's strongman. Big lifts are always impressive nonetheless. | ||

I've been a promoter and it's very enjoyable but also damn hard work..., every now and then you get bulls**t thrown at you that annoys the s**t out of you, at first it's water off a ducks back but over time it takes its toll until you think "f**k It" I'm out . Constructive critism is fine BUT your comp looks boring isn't constructive . There's a lot of guys looking forward to competing in this and spectators who want to come watch will enjoy it I'm sure . | ||

You're right. Didn't mean to take away from the hard work of competitors or the promoters. I'm interested in the ongoing conversation of how strongman can better engage a wider audience. Maybe these kinds of comps, which feature lifts that a lot of people can relate to are part of the answer. But I suppose that's a topic for another thread. Good luck to everyone! | ||

Plus not everyone aspires to become the fastest man to run with a keg/ yoke or farmers or the guy who can hold up a car battery up for the longest .. I only really do this to increase my static strength, it is after all just a hobby and everyone should do the comps they like the look of and don't do they comps they don't fancy . Spectators the same . | ||
