cnp are pretty reputable, doubt they'd put something s**t in their products, says whey isolate in there aswell, doesn't break down percentage.

I'd say it be reet.

Wouldn't have that many a day though. Lol.

Oh I remember buying a pack of something like that a few years back. They tasted absolutely horrific lol

Going by what 1369 Phil posted the other day about how much protein is ACTUALLY in these things, I'd rather go with steak or chicken. I might supplement with a shake for 50g of protein, 50g can easily be done with a snack of 100g nuts and a pint of milk, which only leaves 200g to come from animal products.

I'm a bit sceptical about supplements.

I enjoy having a bit of food and then loads and loads of whey so technically iv had like 300g of protein per day, even though it makes me a fag.

s**tloads of protein just isn't required though. It's very easy to get what you need from a few meals.

1g per lb of lean bodyweight is a simple amount to consume and is possibly more than you actually need. Even when dieting.

So just to clarify . I tell all the gym members that they don't spend their money on these bulls**t products we're selling .

Just eat some nuts and drink some milk :-)

I used to drink those berry juice protein thingys in a 500ml bottle of the collagen. Gave me heart burn worse than my ex girlfriend.

I'd love to hear the responses.

Well I did a cursory look when you posted and as mentioned I think, there is a bit of research where collagen was added to dairy proteins like whey and given to patients for various health-related reasons. Some of the studies found that the protein supplement helped prevent muscle wastage when people were basically starving, etc., etc., Can't say I found much in sports people. The blend that they use is something patented as actinase, which is a propietry blend used in various circles and contains whey and casein isolates (which are high quality proteins)as well as the collagen, so it will not be an incomplete source.

So, I suspect that the reason they are doing this would be based on a possible additive effect of the protein blend on promoting a positive nitrogen balance, which is used as an indicator of a surplus of protein/amino acids that can be used for growth, repair, etc. I also wonder if it is more heat and shelf stable, meaning that it is less likely to denature in higher temperatures.

There is other stuff in protein slam too like beta alanine, of course.

With it being a blend, I suspect that it will be more expensive to manufacture than whey alone.
