Interesting session. Original plan was to go above 120 but my right shoulder still sore from squatting (gripping bar too tight probably) so decided to go conservative. The reason I missed 3rd rep@117.5 was entirely my fault. Told the spotter 2 reps then changed my mind, by which time he was taking it. By the time I'd got the message through above the loud music my shoulders were feeling it, with predictable results. Fairly sure it's there for another day. Would have equalled my 3X pb. Incline press hurt my shoulder so stopped. weight 92.2 this morning

Good session. 3 sets of 5@107.5 represents an equalling of a volume best, if that makes sense. Over the next few weeks I hope to equal a few more or even break one or two rep pbs. Weight this morning 92.5.

Cheers Andy. Hoping for around 125. I've found that bench is just a case of sticking at it and hoping that it'll sort itself out- a little unscientific I know.

Bloody hard squatting today, but satisfying to have made 5 x 5@150. Squat is progressing nicely, but it is hard work. Back gave one or two strange moments in the warm up, but nothing came of that, thankfully. weight 92.1

No Raj,I'm not competing. The main problem was getting there on public transport, as it is in the middle of nowhere. A secondary reason was that if I was going to compete I'd want to do significantly better than last time, which I'm not sure is the case. My aim now is to get back to the kind of lifts I was doing before I moved down to 93. There has been enough progress in the last month or two to think this is now a possibility.

Wasn't going to train today. Bd nights sleep (too much drink too little food) so decision to train very last minute. Didn't feel strong. triple at 107.5 was hard so actually quite happy to get a double at 117.5. Couldn't get the bar path right today. hamstrings and lower back still sore from squatting and I have a problem with the very top of my thigh (groin?). Weight this morning a weedy 91.6

good couple of sessions mate sorry to read about your aches and pains.
us older chaps take a bit longer to recover. i seem to be taking longer and longer to warm up these days aswell.
i would appreciate your opinion/advice on this mate as we are both of a simillar age

Aches and pains are temporary, only the grumbling (or crumbling) is permanent.

Not a bad session, despite it coming after 6 hours on my feet teaching. My legs were feeling a bit weary beforehand but just about survived. Considering a couple of painful twinges on Saturday, my back has recovered quite well since squatting.
