OLD SCHOOL SUGDEN Member 212, 11439 posts SQ 325, BP 212.5, DL 370907.5 kgs @ 100kgs UnEq | Just found out that Olympic Champion - Om Yun Chol from North Korea has broken the World Record on the Clean and Jerk in the Asian Inter Club on 12th September He went - Om Yun Chol - PRK - 55.73 - 115kg -118kg - 120kg - 155kg - 169kg(World record + 3 x Bodyweight) These Worlds are going to be awesome !!! | ||

Its almost like a joke team . Not seen Long for ages . . Thinking about it i watched the Chinese Nationals and he didn`t lift there so how he made the team is any-ones guess .. Great lifter though and it`ll take someone special to beat Om Yun Chol .. HU LIAO Olympic champ of Beijing also with Long so nice to see some of the old guard back .. A few lifters are relatively unknown to me anyway - Chen was Junior World Champ of a few years back .. LIANG bombed in this years Asian Games No one can question the inclusion of Xiaojun Lu, My favorite lifter to watch.. World record Snatch off him this year .. Never seen Tao lift - Looking forward to that .. I`m surprised they have Bing in the team and very surprised they have Al Yunan The Russians will murder that team .. BUT i don`t think this is the real team .. | ||

Liao hui did something like 160/190 about 3 months ago. No idea about the heavier dudes though! Zhang Jie and the 56k guy we always see didnt place in thetop3 ecen.. | ||

This dude competed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics! Great to see a guy with almost 20 years under his belt still competing at a high level. David Matam Matam is another one, won a Commonwealth medal back in 1998 and is even older than Ramunas. | ||

Not saying there is anyone in particular missing but surely they would be better doubling up in a few of the lighter classes rather than these heavier guys ???? There is someone missing actually but I can't just put my finger on who it is . | ||

"In November 2011, the International Weightlifting Federation announced Liao has been banned for three years for a positive drug test and has been stripped of his gold medal from the 2010 World Weightlifting Championships. He has also been stripped of the two world records he set at those games. His ban ends September 30, 2014" ????? Surely the 2013 World Champs are happening before September 30th, 2014? | ||

Liao hui had his ban reduced to 2 years in line with all the rest. Its all on the iwf start list. Wu jingbiao is thr guy iwas thinking of! Came 4th at their games tho, hes way off somehow.Good point on doubling up actually. Thry have a couple guys in there dominating most years! | ||
