Tesco Everyday Value Oats 1Kg,75p, 11.0g of protein per 100g

the results show how many grams of protein you get per £1 for each product

So based on this... we see that oats are a good source of protein?

now here's an interesting development

just to put these results into proportion I decided to find out the protein per £1 of a generic scam supplement.

Maxumuscle Cyclone: 10.9g of protein per £1

So this particular product designed to get you swole is actually half the amount of protein per £ than potatoes. Now in Maximuscles defence the Cyclone also has various other things in it for example black pepper extract so you will get jack4d

well this particular product has 11g of protein per 100g, however as I said it doesn't take into account that it might not be a whole source of protein.

Sorry I meant something else but it would be the same.

What about comparing amount of protein per £1 and amount of protein per average portion size. I mean, you can drink 568ml of milk but would struggle with 568g of porridge oats. So based on that which provides the better source of protein relative to cost?

Work your magic Jack.

ok well lets assume that its not unreasonable to eat 100g of any of these things. Then maybe for others any multiple of 100g?

well it goes something like this (this is g of protein per 100g)

nuts: 28.2
quark: 13.6
semi skimmed milk: 3.6
lactose free milk: 3.6
tuna: 16.4
yogurt: 5
eggs: 12.5
cottage cheese: 9.5
oats: 11
potatoes: 2.1
frozen mince: 16.8

That's the sort of thing I was after really, but you just take the 100g breakdown and there's your answer.

this is about how little money you can spend and still get the desired amount of protein. So ok you cant eat 1+kg of oats all in one meal, however when you eat one portion of it the rest doesn't suddenly disappear, you have a lot left. So basically with the oats its one of those things you have to only spend 75p and then wont have to spend another 75p for ages because you have acquired loads all with one 75p transaction. As its so cheap and you now have 75p's worth of oats, maybe the person in question then decides to make the oats take up a greater percentage of their protein intake? And as a result save money in their lives? Money which can then be spent on having to pay £190 per week to rent a room in Tower Hamlets?
