tabbouleh and fattoush salads were very refreshing Member 267, 8548 posts SQ 220, BP 165, DL 250635.0 kgs @ 90kgs Eq | I didn't enjoy that. Too violent for me. Don't mind a bit of boxing as fights tend to be stopped when things get too one sided. But watching someone's face getting pounded for several minutes whislt he's lying there completely f**ked makes me feel a bit sick. Why was that not stopped sooner. Maybe I don't get the point of UFC.

Maybe I don't get the point of UFC. The fight was stopped in under a round due to the cuts, long before he had chance to sustain more than superficial damage. In boxing with the gloves on that damage would have taken much longer to inflict and many more concusive headshots would have had to have been taken in the process, Dont get me wrong I love boxing aswell but with mma the damage fighters take is the damage you see, in boxing its the damage you dont see that's the problem.

This is very true, the constant pounding of the head in boxing is what can cause long term brain damage in some cases. Not knocking boxing just agreeing that MMA doesnt inflict long term damage on the whole except to the ears in many cases Fights can be grueling in MMA and I certainly dont revel in seeing people hurt but these guys are true wariors and command absolute respect for what they choose to do, the guys are tough and then some. Not surprised that Velasquez won as he has been so dangerous from day one, Brocks a tough dude though and I am sure he will continue to fight on regardless.

There are many fewer blows, and due to the smaller gloves the impact is concentrated, which can lead to more blood injuries but leads to the head being thrown around less during the fight

Member 1705, 104 posts | Watched this last night. Shields was a joke, so he took him down at will, so what? he didnt land one flaming punch, never got close to one submission, for him to get a title shot on the back of that performance is an insult to all the other fighters in the division. Brock needs to learn to take a shot or two, to be fair to Cain, he was calm throughout, not just a great fighter but seemingly a great thinker too, screw his heritage, he is an awesome fighter and thats all that bothers me. Diego Sanchez looks to be back to his best, relentless cardio and a relentless attack, awesome.
