Cardio is scrotum-lickingly awful, but there's no excuse for being out of breath after walking up a few flights of stairs in work. I plan on sapping my dignity on the threadmill twice a week from here on in, although these plans have been known to fail before.

as the finns say:
"you cant always win, but you can always lose"
no harm in giving the cardio a shot. Running is pretty hardcore tho for power belly guys. Keep an eye on them knees mate!
Was disappointed you werent at sugden last night since i did a rare appearance with a graveyard shift session!

s**t. I might have been there when you were there but I didn't stray into the free weights area lest I be deflected away from my objective of nailing some cardio. Do you train at Sugden at weekends any more? Good point about the running, although I think as long as I increase the incline rather than the speed it shouldn't be too bad on the knees.

s**t, sorry man. Was doing a bit of overtime at work and didn't have my phone on me. I'm training tomorrow about 11ish if you fancy it? You'll probably get the opportunity to laugh at me doing pullups.

Sunday 10 May
Push Press (from rack):
bar x 8
40x5
50x3
60x2
70x2
80x2
75x4
Front Squat:
60x3
80x2
100x1
110x1
120x1
100x6
Ab Wheel (from knees):
25 reps
Quick and dirty. Changed my technique on push presses. More of a pure push press, and less of a sloppy attempted power jerk. Felt alot more stable, and should have done alot better on the drop down set but lost focus. Shamefully enough, the fornties were about the best squatting I've done for about a month. 120kg was tough but never in doubt. Again, the drop down set was a bit s**te, but an ok session overall by recent standards. Should probably cut the reps on ab wheel and do a static hold at the fully extended position instead, then stop being a fanny and do them from standing instead of kneeling. Tony and Anthony were both training. First time I've said more than a few words to anyone in the gym for about a month which made a nice change, although I thought Anthony was going to beat a stroppy little gobs**te to death in an incline bench-based dispute at one stage.

Wednesday 13 May
Front Squats:
40x5
60x2
80x2
100x1
110x1
120x2
Back Extensions:
+15kg x 8
+15kg x 8
Quick one in between shifts in work. Forgot my belt so it was fronties again instead of back squats. Strength is coming back up a bit. The 120 double was marginally easier than the 120 single last time. Need to get up to 130x2 and 120x5 and hit some fecking PBs. Haven't got a PB single since mid-February.

Friday 15 May
Front Squat:
bar x loads
40x2x5
60x2
80x2
100x1
115x1
125x1
Front Squat Walkouts (held in position for 10-15 seconds):
130x1
140x1
*back squats aborted after a few sets on 60kg
Deadlifts:
60x3
100x2
120x2
140x1
160x1
180x1
Fronties are slowly improving. The 115kg was pretty easy, the 125kg was hard but not awful. Walkouts were ridiculously tough. 130kg felt like I'd never lfited that much before, and I was shaking like a leaf on 140kg, and its only 5kg more than my PB. Left kneee was popping like f**k when I tried back squats so I did some deadlifts instead. Was moving like a corpse and rounding my back on every set so I didn't push it but they were all easy enough. No volume whatsoever but ok session.

Charis, Luke and Anthony all in attendance today. Went in with no plan and basically f**ked about for an hour, but had a good time grumbling about stuff. Form was brutal on squats and push presses but squats are slowly improving. Actually made it to the gym this week which is a start, and will endeavour to put some effort into it next week.
