Can't a sugden poll be made for this? They have been done before iirc, for powerlifting equipment or something?!

For what its worth, I think it could be a good idea. Doesn't seem right having 3 categories so close at lighter weights and nothing above 105. Especially in a sport know for having 'big' people competing.

Edit: then comps should go back to having on the day weigh ins. If people are competing in 'u105kg' comps weighing 115, might as well just compete in that category!

Gyms in the UK are full of dbol popping pretty boys that can't even bench 140 - you can't put it all down to the juice!

There's also a lot of dbol popping pretty boys who bench 200 with no arch, no leg drive and flared elbows......

Go to Ralls in Leeds it actually freaks me out in there at just how strong people are, ive never seen anything like it, think the max bench in our ''regualr'' gym lads is about 140 in Ralls its 220+ and you see joe average lads repping 180 for fun!

i supose a structured way of looking at it is finding out what weights the opens guys are generaly at. if the majority % are weighing in at 120-130, then theres no point in changing it. if they are mainly 135+, then yeah an under 120 and an opens would be good. if your the guy that sits between 110-115 you have two options, based on your current stature, you cut fat and go for 105s, or you bulk up abit and stick to opens. guys being bigger doesnt instantly give them an advantage, you could be in better condition than a bigger guy. one of my drop in training partners is an absolute beast at 125kg-ish, phenominal strength, uses most of my maxes as a warm up - but, i kno if we take a medium weight and do reps for a min, i will beat him cus his conditioning isnt great. i know that isnt a direct cross over but hey ho. personaly, for my future aims, an under 120 category would be perfect - at my maturity i should get to a good 120 of decent mass, however, i kno for the majority it wont benifit. you kinda gota look at yourself, and see what suits you best i supose.

thats just my 2 sence anywho!

I openly use, it is legal to use and thus i have no shame in admitting it - and I'm one of those that benches 200+ with a close grip, flat back, no arch etc.

I had a 160 bench without gear, after using for 18 months I did a strict 220 with a pause etc. It isn't a magic cure, but it does dramatically decrease the amount of time it takes to get strong. However it is a small part of the equation - I have also eaten 8000+ calories on a daily basis.

Still, I'd get my arse handed to me by an average drug free strongman in a comp.
