Cheers, I enjoyed the 3's today!

And yes, I had a good laugh at the end of that race, people falling off the C2, I think only half the handles made it to the catcher Grin

Sparrow, it majorly depends on how my legs are. If they are feeling decent then even the tough work seems ok, if they are knackered the AT and even UT1 can seem horrible.

I think I have maybe overlooked the significance of leg fatigue. Squatting 2-3 times each week probably has a bigger effect than I've allowed myself to accept.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. I've stopped squatting any weight of significance due to it having a detrimental effect on rowing for 2 - 3 days after. Difficult to tell if squatting would help me longer term, but I think it's more stamina than strength I'm missing on anything over 500m.

Best UT1 I've done in a couple of weeks, just ran out of steam a little on the last set, HR made me drop the pace.

135 - 149 for UT1, shhhhh!

I know I need to drop it a touch, but my HR monitor jumps about 2 - 3 beats on some strokes. Today it was on 149 a lot of the time, but it was also jumping to 150 / 151 a fair bit.

Warm up didn't record to Ergdata for some reason. A funny one today, beforehand legs were feeling tired and I was fully expecting a horrible session. Anyway, once I got started they were fine and it ended up being a relatively enjoyable session. First time I've kept both 10 minutes under 1:45 pace for a while.

They’re very good reps, Bim.

Confidence must be building nicely for the next 2k attempt?

Thanks jt, good to see you are paying attention Grin (unlike myself)!

It's one of the things I 'worry' about doing a flat pace session, I mean it's meant to be AT, not UT1 (although I was putting in a fair bit more effort than a UT1 session). I know if I'd have gone much faster though the second set would have suffered and been slower. I must say though having done the flat pace sessions for a few weeks now they do seem better overall. Instead of a session being very hard at the start and easing off towards the end it's a lot more consistent effort throughout.

Cheers Sparrow! I'm feeling quite good at the moment, all I've got to do is duck under my TR pace by a fraction, hold that pace and I'll get a nice pb, how hard can that be Tongue!

Looks like a little leg fatigue is kicking in again, this was a hard unpleasant session especially when compared to the same one on Thursday, although the pace was very similar. Started on r3, went up to r5 for the last one.

At least you will only have 6minutes 20 seconds (or so) of pain to look forward to.

I watched Cameron Buchan the other night on what he tells himself during the 2k, at no point did he mention any negative thoughts. If you have not seen it it is worth 10 minutes of your time.

Is it this one jt? This is more about mental prep for the 2k, quite a good watch.

Could you put a link up if it's not that one, ta!
