Surprisingly I have not suffered much arse pain since my pissed up marathon.

I learnt the next day why it is wise to sit on a little bit of foam.

Lovely 20's.

1k Cool down

Pretty much a repeat of last week, except this time I managed to compete it Grin Took it slightly easier on the 4th set as I felt close to popping, probably a good call as the last set was very tough, I couldn't have gone any faster.

So, managed to sort out my form a little yesterday and today. I've been bracing my back and letting the seat pretty much hit the back of my heels each stroke. Started in the warmup today leaning forward more and dropping my hips back a touch at the catch. This sorts out a couple of things I've been thinking about, it keeps the heels fully down, and the shins don't go past vertical. It feels good as well and lengthens the stroke, at the moment though on sets like these I can't do it for more than a couple of hundred m's as form starts to break down. I think over time though as I get used to it it could be the way to go.

Super 5k.

A little bit of form change can be so tiring but long term rewarding.

2 weeks till 2k?

I did both the warm up and cool down doing the pick drill, 10 strokes for each part then change. Averaged 1:31.2 last week so shaved a touch off again. I'd have ducked under 1:31 if set 13 hadn't messed up, it did the thing again where it didn't register for the first couple of seconds and then gave 4 minutes+ for the 500m pace. I didn't have the willpower to try and get it back down under 1:32 Roll-Eyes Anyway, a good session that pretty much finished me off on the last couple of sets again, legs were in bits by the end. I tried the new form on the first rep but had to give it up almost immediately, need a lot more practice on these faster sets.

Pick drill:

Cheers jt, under 1:30 pace for the session has to be the aim at some point but I'm a little off that right now.

Yeah, not the best video, I just linked to it as I couldn't explain it! I've seen that drill mentioned in a few place so thought I'd give it a go, I can see it helping me once I get used to doing it.
