Yeah, it was, and it's so competitive any less than 100% commitment would see you left behind. On the plus side most of the training I've done since then has been a walk in the park in comparison Grin

The first 6 min would have got me a 6:46 2k, legs were feeling slightly jellied and my HR was still a few beats off target. I think my problem at the moment is my cardio has improved quicker than the rest of my bodies ability to keep up. Total distance on the same set last week was 6,786m so 68m further this week.

That's a brilliant session.

New 2k PB is surely there when you want to take it.

Cheers!

I'm trying to be disciplined at the moment Grin I'm on week 2 of a 16 week program that will see me doing a max 2k almost bang on Xmas. I do feel I could do a pb if I tapered for a couple of days but I'm going to resist that. Next pb plan is a 60 min row possibly a week tomorrow.

You must haver super lung capacity, 1.49 for UT1 is ace

I reckon you could knock out a HM around 75minutes

Another top session in the bag.

60 mins at low 1:50's is pretty bloody impressive!

That would be 1:46.6 pace Grin! I think I would blow up after 30 minutes or so of that, my UT1 pace was up to 1:53 by the end of the session.

I've been thinking about what I should try to do for the 60 minute row and I reckon 1:50 would be a realistic target, I managed 1:50.8 for the last 10k I did but I'm a fair bit fitter now than I was for that. 1:50 pace would also get me 4th in the C2 rankings.

The dreaded arse pain and dead legs isn’t that bad after a while. An hour at 1:50 would be great.

Tired and achy this morning and due to circumstances I ended up doing this first thing, with no warm up, and it was awful.

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR
4:25.8 1,016m 2:10.8 156 838 21 139

Got 247m more than last week. Glutes were back to full discomfort again today, in fact the cool down was so uncomfortable I took a couple of stand up breaks.

During yesterdays and todays session I did the cool downs without feet in straps, what a difference it made to the way I do my stroke! Makes me wait a touch longer before the arms start pulling, and they have to pull a touch harder than I'm used to, it has to be the most efficient way to row though I guess? Nothing left on the footplate, unlike if you use the straps to stop you going backwards (which I normally do).

No straps, I used to row like this on all my UT2 stuff bare foot too.

I guess the test would be a 2k like it.

Splendid half wowers
