Like the events Tony, time to get training!

Will I agree 300kg yoke will kill most people first time they try it, but it is in line with 130kg farmers, so let's get it owwn!

Also should add that if it is my equipment that we're using, could I suggest having the 105kg stone and the 140kg stone as there doesn't seemt t be too much difference between my 105 and my 130!? JC is planning on bringing his scales down so we can weigh them soon though. 140 stone also seems more in line with the rest of the events. Cheers, looking forward to this one!

Formalised list of events.

Deadlift rising bar
Each competitor gets 3 lifts and can jump in/pass when they like. Bar will start at 200 and rise in 10kg increments.

Farmers Walk
130kg for distance, high pick up. Length of course will be dictated by the size of cleggys car park.

Log lift for max
Same rules as deadlift log starts at 80kg.

Yoke
300kg for time over a designated course.

Stone for reps over yoke in 75 seconds.
2 stones 100kg and 130kg. Rep with heaviest stone beats any reps with smaller stone.

Think thats does the best to negate flights/groups with everyone competing against each other.

Saturday February 21st 2009 Is booked and Ready to Go .

So how would the scoring work? With the stones, does one rep with the big one beat 10 with the littler one? I think yoke and farmers would need to be lighter for novices. Because the other events have varying weights so you match individual ability?

Yes one rep with the bigger stone beats any number with the smaller one.

On the issue of the weights it was always going to be hard to find a medium to suit everyone but I think I've come fairly close. We could to and fro the issue for months and still not please everyone so a line has been drawn in the sand. Plenty of time for everyone to train.

If I was you I would look at the weights as a challenge rather than a daunting prospect.

Events look good, and chance to compete against such amiable friendly sudgen cocksuckers cannot be sniffed at. Put me down! Only thing is, if it's same weekend as Scotland's qualifiers I will be a no show. Should know in the next couple of weeks fo sho.
