Mauro Di Pasquale is a medical doctor and former IPF World/World Games Champion

What does being a doctor of medicine have to do with dietary knowledge; given its a different degree?

Very little for most medical doctors I would guess. I was only pointing out his background - not saying his ideas were right or wrong.

I would however guess that as an assistant professor at the University of Toronto for ten years (1988 to 1998) lecturing and researching on athletic performance, nutrition, nutritional supplements, and drug use in sports he does know a little bit more than your average MD about diet.

It all depends on what your goals are, but this kind of diet (i.e. cyclic ketogenic) can work very, very well for fat loss. When Di Pasquale first proposed it for the short-lived WBF bodybuilding fed as part of the move away from AAS usage, it was deemed a total disaster, but it seems that many of the problems came from resistance to a challenge to the orthodoxy (more in line with Parillo's ideas back then), non-compliance, and, of course, the more drastic effects of limitation or curtailment of AAS usage. Since then, a lot of people (inc. naturals) have used CKD to good effect, particularly within a BBing context. HOw well it would work for a heavy strongman aiming to maintain actual performance, I don't know, but I know from personal experience, for my very modest purposes, that I frankly notice no performance difference between training on (very) low carbs and with higher carbs. This is not the same as an endorsement of the approach for all purposes, but it does mean that I wouldn't dismiss such an approach out of hand for all purposes (and before I tried it, I thought that it was lunacy of the highest order which would leave me (even) weak(er) and semi-comatose).

Far more worthy of note than the MD title I agree, that would have been much better informtation to include as his background than what was there.

His portions must be f**king huge. A loaf of bread made into sarnies, with 3 dozen eggs. A whole f**king Salmon for tea!
Average portions of all that would barley tip the scales at 3500-4000 cals.

Or hes lying and eats pot noodles all day.
