 Member 194, 3976 posts | St Ives 2 Dollar Dollar Not really that worried about this one, confident I could nail the reps ok, did a quick set of 5 on 240 to warm up then was on about 5th I think. Came first Axle Not an event I like at all, but been working on it hard – plays havoc with my dodgy knee though so it was well braced up today. Watched 3 guys hit 4 reps, managed 3 myself and just missed the clean on the 4th – should have got it but rushed it, lesson learnt. Still happy with that vs last years outings. Think I was 4th or 5th Hold Was 2 points behind Simon now and joint with Luke (ahead on countback), they were both up before me, made sure I beat their times comfortably then rested for the sandbags, in hindsight as I was just over a second behind 1st place I should have just won it for the extra two points to make my life more comfortable – again lesson learnt. 3rd Sandbags Up first on my least fav event, nailed 3 in a decent time, got the 4th to the axle and didn’t quite shoulder it. Think I was 4th here? DB Medley Had enough space generated from the hold to be in 1st place going into this so had the luxury of watching all the other guys first, after Luke nearly threw the first dumbeel through the skylight my exaclt words were “bo***cks”, realistically I was not going to beat him on this, Simon missed the 4th Bell so only Chris and Luke had nailed all 4. I was confident I could get all 4 but wasn’t sure on countback (as Luke would have won this event) so tried not to hang about, got all 4 faster than Chris so came second keeping me above Luke and Simon. 2nd Result – 1st place Happy enough, several lessons learnt. Also got a 160 stone of Will and ordered a log of JT so overall a productive day. Well run comp again, thanks to Will and his kin and to JT for doing a lot of the reffing and supplying kit. | ||
