This is what they have on the site.

Matesz Baron of Poland – Winner of 2011 Arnold Amateur World Strongman Championships
Haftor Bjornsson of Iceland – A 6-foot-9, 430-pound former basketball player who won Iceland Strongest Man in 2011 and was runner-up to Shaw at the Jon Pall Sigmarsson Classic
Mike Jenkins of Baltimore, Md. – Runner-up at Arnold Strongman Classic in 2011 and winner of the inaugural Arnold Amateur World Strongman Championships in 2010
Mikhail Koklyaev of Russia – Arnold Classic Strongman veteran who is four-time winner in Strongman Champions League
Benedickt Magnusson of Iceland – Finished fifth at the Arnold Strongman Classic in 2006 and 2008 before sitting out 2010 due to injury. World record holder in the deadlift at 1,102.3 pounds (500 kg)
Derek Poundstone of Waterbury, Conn. – Arnold Strongman champion in 2009 and 2010
Zydrunas Savickas of Lithuania – Arnold Strongman winner 2003-08 and World’s Strongest Man winner in 2010
Laurence Shahlaei of England -- Finished fourth in the 2011 World's Strongest Man
Brian Shaw of Fort Lupton, Colo. – Arnold Strongman and World’s Strongest Man winner in 2011

One additional competitor will be named to the field as the winner of the All-American Strongman Classic in January winning an automatic entry into the contest.

Michael Burke won the LA Fit Expo today so that would make him the last invitation (unsure on the status of Matesz Baron).

What big Loz goes and terry doesn't. Great for Loz but I'd have terry there over benidik or Hafthor

We're you given a reason to why your not included Terry?

I would have thought the reason is exactly what they said in the blog post - that he competed at last year's ASC with an injury that he didn't inform them of.

yes they certainly didnt seem too happy abou that. However Terry didn't come last, so i would argue that he was still competetive.

So they give a place to a power lifter who was injured in 2010 hasn't competed in strongman for a couple of seasons but has a huge deadlift. TBH if I were to chose I'd of gone for terry as he's a strongman compeditor, finished third at WSM, and is on the top of his game.
Just my opinion though

It is a shame that people get overlooked, but no matter what it's the decision of a few people and imo they won't change they will have good reasons in their opinions as to why the line up is as it is, I'm not saying they are right, but if it was me I would count it as their loss missing out on not having terry there and simply stick two fingers up, I understand the financial loss and dent to pride and ego but if you have to beg, petition or protest to not be overlooked or justify a position when the placings in wsm alone are enough, then it's a real drain on time and energy as its going to fall on deaf ears imo, I would give a short sharp f**k off to them!

I may be and hope i am wrong, and on a personal and financial level I hope Terry does get a chance to go and prove why he should have been invited in the first place as you can't argue with placings, and at an invite only comp the current years placings or feats of strength are the only warranted reason for invites, good luck with it.

it is totally untrue that i hid it from them! a physio was even sent to my room before the comp cause the organisers knew i was injured
AvatarJackRevans
