I really wanted 140kg x 20 tonight. To be honest, I am able to do it now but I wasn't in the game MENTALLY. My girlfriend came down with a cold at the weekend so perhaps I am getting it. My right knee felt dodgy all day and to top it all off we had a trio of chav scumbags hanging around behind us. I know its a lame excuse but they really put me off. They were talking really loud and I was 'tuned in' to their conversation. 100kg x 30 was easy enough. 60kg x 40 was a piece of cake. Very disappointed in my mental toughness tonight. What a f*nny!

Bottled the 140kg set again as no spotter but I got a spot for the 100kg and repped 32. Pretty chuffed with that considering it is more than my own bodyweight and they were all rock bottom.

A pretty decent session considering the illness last week. Dont feel like I have lost much strength at all but I have a very sore ankle - I think I may have bashed it in Ikea My legs are still very sore from squatting on monday. Another week or two of the high volume and I will start to cycle the weight up and reps down. Looking forward to it.

My strength in the squat seems to have gone down and my form is suffering. I keep changing my hand spacing, bar position and feet position. I just do not feel comfortable under the bar at present so I'm going to start increasing the weight and go back to 5s again soon. My old training partner was with us tonight and he loves gunz and doesn't like getting stuck in so I yielded to him and we did 21s. I'm puting my foot down from now on though as he messed up the routine and constantly said how crap this training was.

left the country satisfied Member 10, 19241 posts SQ 240, BP 150, DL 270660.0 kgs @ 107kgs UnEq | do the squats feel uncomfortable from the start or just after a few reps? I dont do high rep squats because the bar moves during the set and wrecks havoc to my form, makes my tendons sore if it drops down etc.

I try and sit back into the squat and go as low as possible. Once I start to fatigue, I cant seem to sit back and the arch in my back isn't as strong. I'll stick at it for another week and see where it takes me though.

left the country satisfied Member 10, 19241 posts SQ 240, BP 150, DL 270660.0 kgs @ 107kgs UnEq | westside boys say that they never do working sets above doubles with squats for the reason of form deteriration and tendon health (the bar slipping down problem i mentioned). Thats my excuse anyway
