I thought for a moment that you had taken a leaf out of Titches book!

It would have been a gold leaf out of one of the finest books around.

Cheers lads.

I would love to enter a few powerlifting comps - I just need to keep my ear to the ground and get my finger outta my ass!

Millsy, Push Presses last night felt really good and I only missed the 3rd rep of the 3rd set because a wee doubt came into my head. I'd love to train at Adlington for the atmosphere - as you can tell, my gym is haemorrhaging atmosphere at present.

Not sure at the moment Joni. I'm pretty busy for the next few months - I will decide soon though.

Today I went to Results and trained with Big Ken and another lad.

Log:
90kg, 1
95kg, 1
100kg, 1
105kg, f

Carried a 120kg keg for about 20m.

Farmers pick ups with 130kg per hand. Held for about 5-10 seconds. Did that twice.

Atlas stones to a platform about chest height.
80kg, 2
100kg, 2
110kg, 1

Well that was my first ever strongman session and I really enjoyed it. It has revealed a number of areas I need to work hard and opened my eyes to what it really takes to perform well in this sport.

Big thanks to Ken for taking time to show me the ropes. All the best for the SSM finals mate!

No worries mate! You did well for your first session too. I reckon the platform was around 46".

As we told you today mate, get your name down for that comp!

Cheers Joni. I really enjoyed it and with more practice I am sure I can do alot better.

For the record - I am really sore today. Hip, shoulder blade region and forearms are all pretty sore but I will be in the gym at the back of 5!!!

Thanks JC. Hopefully Ken will agree with this but once I have the stone lapped, I will be able to get it on the platform. Its getting the thing off the floor that I found hard. 110kg felt like it was welded to the floor!

nice first session there mate!

JC you would have loaded the stones if we were using a 46" platform, so don't put yourself down.

To our defence the platform would of been higher but we couldnt find any more whole pallets.

Dont think it was a criticism from Millsy, Ken Happy

Wot height were the platforms in SSM qualifiers? (sorry to hijack the journal McLaren Roll-Eyes )
