Sounds like good fun mate, Ill check it out on Strava later.

I went out earlier for a nice tempo ride.... Blizzard stopped play. I dont mind the snow, and I can tolerate the wind, but not being able to see? That's where I draw the line.

Bad times. Sometimes you just have to admit defeat though. Sorry if that doesn't earn me any hardcore points, but I can live with that. Happy

Rule 5 went out the f**king window yesterday and was replaced with 'I dont fancy dying today, not on a tempo ride...'

Thursday 4th April

Tempo
23.7km

Wanted to do around 40km but a horrible blizzard came in and soon put paid to that. Couldn't see. The wind was pretty horrible, I couldn't feel my toes or fingers and my legs were heavy. Not ideal. Did another 25km getting to the circuit and back.

Friday 5th April

Dulwich TT Recce
15,3km

Went out to recce the Dulwich Paragon TT circuit. It's pretty grim with the last 4km uphill to the finish line. Going to use it for some TT training over the Summer and hope to do the club series there too. Did another 64km getting there and back. Good fun ride.

Us bigger, stronger boys should be able to put in a decent TT time I reckon mate. I reckon it's probably the cycling that suits me the best. Would love a go at the IP on the track too.

Saturday 6th April

Chipping Ongar
131km

Went out in a 3 today and put in some good miles. Finally the Sun came out and the wind had died down a bit. Went pretty hard in parts and my legs are f**ked. Got a Sportive tomorrow but just treating it as slow base miles as I'm riding with some weaker cyclists.

Good to see you being able to get some miles in. That's a decent distance to be covering as well I think. You can hurt yourself enough, but know that you can also shift a bit when you need to, rather than having to keep an eye on your 'tank' when you move past 100/110 miles. That could just be me though, as I tended to suffer a bit upwards of 100.

I'm quite tempted by a TT at the minute. Only a '10' though, on some complete f**king dragstrip where 100kgs isn't as much of an issue.

Let's find one for this Summer. Essex way. I'll let you inflict some hurt on me.

Well my training for the last 6 months has been wank so time to put some hard yards in.

Hard to gauge. My base endurance is decent but a country mile off of what I had built at the end of Lejog. My climbing is at about 95% of my best but I'm much lighter and think that my power is actually a ways down and that shows clearly in both my TT and top end speed.

9 weeks of uninterrupted training and I will be in decent shape. Potentially the best I've been.

Sunday 7th April

Fools Errand Sportive
77.51 miles
1811m of climbing

Went out and did this Sportive with a few of the leisure ride group. Took it really easy as we go at the pace of the slowest and was a good day. The weather was probably the best it's been so far this year (not saying much) but it was a welcome relief from being battered by winds and not feeling my fingers....

Was actually quite a nice route with a couple of really short sharp climbs including the hard side of Toys Hill from 100 Hill Climbs. Didn't push up any of them but want to go back and do the route again at a decent clip another time.

That finished the hardest week of riding since Lejog. Monday = rest day.
