I guess it's time to start logging the training again.

A little bit of background for those that dont know me. I used to lift, was always pretty average but competed in Powerlifting as a Junior and then did some u105kg strongman and most recently a little bit in the u90s. Unfortunately my body is broken, with no prospect of it being fixed. (Both SC joints are dislocated forwards causing all sorts of problems in my right shoulder).

So, I now ride my bike. A lot.And I love it.

So far the riding has just been for fun (and a bit of charity) and earleir this Summer I completed LEJOG in aid of Marie Curie. The plan moving forward is to ride more Sportives, find the next stupid challenge to do, and hopefully compete in some TTs and maybe even a road race or two. We shall see.

A quick word of caution though, if you're after lifting, this isn't the journal for you....

Did you manage to get leave for the amateur tour de france thing?

I'm not currently at work mate so will have to wait a few weeks to speak to the boss. The chances really are about 1% though and I cant afford to ka unpaid leave so it's all a bit of a longshot.

I could have done that, but I've got plans mate Unhappy Sorry!

Probably cider in the Sun. I'd still have popped in, but I'm over in richmond which is a f**king mission to Gravesend.

I'll be interested to bob in here from time to time Ollie as I've go no idea what type of format a cyclists training takes.

I remember once being out on my racer when I was thai boxing. I could run 6 minute miles for fun back then. I was hurtling along up this hill and suddenly this guy in the full get up passed me like I was hardly moving. Kinda made me wonder just how fit you guys are cos I remember I had major lactic acid burn at the time and could in no way have upped the pace.

Cool. What comps have you done?(strongman) Saw you at Dragons last year, but that's it. You just cycle on roads or MTB too? Also how did you get injured?
