Nowadays I have a knackered foot. Think it's collapsed arch. I'm using 'superfeet' inserts in my shoes. Podiatrists gave me different inserts but they made things worse. As I'm a postman I walk 10 miles a day, which hurts. I'm hoping that as my feet get used to the inserts the pain will go away.
But, I deadlifted heavier than I have for ages the other day, and my foot has been worse since
So I've come to the conclusion that I can't deadlift or squat heavy anymore. :-(
Any suggestions for building leg mass considering I train in my garage (no machines)
Thinking of split squats/lunges/step ups, and light stiff leg/Romanian deadlifts ?
Anyone got any better ideas?
Also, anyone else had foot problems like mine? Pain feels like the bones in my foot need to click into place sometimes, upper foot/ankle joint, and little toe side of foot too. ??

I've had what sounds like a similar thing with the big toe in my left foot, recurring on and off (mostly off, thankfully) for about fifteen years. Usually it last from a few hours to a couple of days. Once it lasted six months Unhappy.

Docs told me it was a soft tissue injury and not much I could do. In retrospect I think it was probably plantar fasciitis.

The harder I work on leg flexibility the less pain I have. I'm still s**t at doing it, though, because I'm a f**king stupid arsepiece.

Yep. Postie-ing has f**ked my foot. Oh well, only took a year, 20 years or so to go!!
I think I'm ok for kbs tbh.
What you getting from mo's boarski?

Cheers Rick. My foot is feeling a bit better, maybe recovering after deadlifts. Definitely need to avoid heavy loads through my foot.

Have a Google for plantar fascia massage. See if it helps. Nothing to lose...

I'll have a look but plantar effects the heel/sole of foot. My pain is in the bones of the upper foot. Anything is worth a try though. Ta.

Cool. I've not been for ages.
Was tempted by a pair of 15kg bumpers he'd put on fb for £40!

Cheers boar, but you're probably right. Not much point in getting more weights if I'm lifting less. Lol

Overhead squats any good for building quadage?
The amount of weight I'd be using would be so little it should be ok for my foot, but at the same time would probably be too light to stimulate any growth?

Not much in all honesty Ped.

Are you still ripped and shredded or do I need another hero?

That's somewhat confidence inspiring, but I've amended my goals accordingly so I don't take the hit at a later date. Let me know if you don't rip as expected so I can initiate plan B - to have forearms like Fat Pete.Wink
