Why is sport so political?

If you use the same brand of toilet paper as Mr Coan you're banned from every gym toilet in Europe.

I miss Cannon Unhappy

I would often stare for hours at his spine .. I remember him trying to get a youngster to get into a start position for the snatch with a straight back and demonstrating this with his hunchbacked curly spine Grin

Laugh out loud !

Just playing devils advocate, but at what level does this 'association' stop? If Ed Coan was a member of Sugden, could an IPF lifter not also be a member of the forum or would it be ok with the IPF as long as they didn't post in the same threads? Could an IPF lifter not queue at the same queue or get on the same bus as evil Ed or would it be ok as long as they didn't speak? If a copy of one of these seminars ends up on youtube on ppv how would an online IPF viewer differ from an IPF attendee of the seminar?
I understand how the IPF has rules and what they are trying to achieve, but in these times of global inter connectivity how realistic is it? I wonder if Facebook checks whether or not someone is in the IPF before suggesting Ed Coan as a friend?Confused

I think the simple answer to that is "paying him for advice on powerlifting"

Which is what going to a seminar is

I wonder if evading drug tests is one of the subjects on Ed's seminar ?

If so I suggest you ignore his advice on this particular topic as he's not been very successful ?

Why would a drug free lifter want to go to see a seminar by a lifter who tested positive three times? And why are so many lifters who don't compete in the IPF so upset by this?

kinda referring to the post earlier...I would LOVE to go and see a lance Armstrong seminar , I would understand other pro cyclists not being able/allowed ..... but powerlifting is amateur .... Ed is a legend , putting aside the drug use , people who love powerlifting would love to hear him talk.

just no shooting up in the bogs.

His podcast interview on Joe Rogan was quite good

Just out of interest, is "Coan" pronounced "cone" or "co-an"?

yea, I enjoyed that one (IMO Rogan puts out way way too many podcasts though) Lance doesn't do things without a reason, but I cant work out why he did the podcast (mabie some American thing I'm not aware of) , rogan certainly couldn't push him about

So is paying to see a recorded broadcast of it.

I don't know much about Ed Coan, nor would I even recognise a picture of him. I just find this an interesting topic.
