hello mate a viper press is named after an old school wrestler called eddie viper
as his finishing move he would pick up the other wrestler press him over head and spin him arround 360' then slamm his face into turnbuckle so i replicate this with the ifsa log, its good for stabilty and lockout

but how good would it be if it was true

na viper press is named after poundstone as his knickname is "the viper"
it is when you one motion the log from floor or lap to overhead
you dont stop at the shoulders to use leg drive or to split
its a good movement for lighter reps and so on
i use it to giver my shoulders a workout but protect my knees

i am working today so had to shift my bench day forward to friday and change gym
dawc shuts early on a friday so it was off to the antonine gym where they hold the BPO scottish

22/10/10
bench press
60k x 10 paused
100k x 8 paused
140k x 3 paused
170k x 3 paused
180k x 3 paused PB
190k x 1 paused
200k x 1 tg nearly got second but was not fast enough off chest

the gym has no boards in stuff so i went to play with my old friend the viking press machine

60k x 10
100k x 8
150k x 10
150k/25k dumbell x 10
150k/35k dumbell x 8
150k/52k dumbell x 5
these where all done strict and close grip was good fun to play witht this old school machine i used to love pressing on it when i was younger


dumbell press
52k x 12 biggest dumbells in gym and i think that might be a PB

pin press
60k x 6
150k x 3/3/3/3
haha i was f**ked for these totally fried my triceps on viking

finished with pressdowns
was a good session considering it was last min and i had a day less to recover from shoulder tue
hit a few PBs but you never know if it was a new audience or weights not being right
thats two pressing days in a row as i missed back on wed so i cant wait to squat and deadlift tomorrow

had a great workout and i was f**ked

box squats
65k x 3
105k x 3
145k x 3 slow was not feeling confident about the next set
165k x 3 still slow
185k x 6 doubled my reps from last week but very very very hard

was realy happy with my box squats i have been sitting up a lot more to put more emphasis on lower quads rather than hips and hammies and this makes the movement realy realy hard as it targets my leg weakness

Deadlift from 15inch
had trapped a nerve in lower back on last rep of box squats must have sat down too fast or something and it was causing my back to spazim
but just got on with it

100k x 3
140k x 3
180k x 3
220k x 3
260k x 1
300k x 1
330k x 1 PB
340k x 1 PB

had never realy pulled from this height so couple of PBs if my back had been fresh i think i had a bit more should be good for 800lb soon

speed deadlifts
220k x 3
210k x 3
180k x 3
160k x 3 back was realy playing up and i could not sit in to pull propper so left it there

side handle deadlift machine
these where all done with feet very close and back to put force through lower quads and not back and hips
150k x 3
230k x 3
310k x 3
390k x 1
430k x 1
430k for time 60 secs pretty comfortable
grip is feeling great best it has been in a long time

was realy happy with today but i was sore all over back and kness where shattered had to go for a sleep then a bath when i got home followed by a hour with the stick to loosen everything off

i can box squat but it is still scary to squat down without the security of the box, my left leg does not have the same range of motion as the right so when i am in full ass to the grass position it feels terrible, all off centre
they told me after the opperation that they where concerned that they had stitched the left tendon too tight and it feels like they have
i can almost touch my ass with the heel of my foot on right leg but left one is still about 6 inch from it
i work a lot at my flexabilty and ROM in kness and once i have close to matching ROM in both legs i will start squatting without box

cheers 340k felt good all i have to do is taked the weight down an inch every week and in 6 weeks time i will be pulling it from floor !!!!
wish it was that easy

ha i think it sounds easy but we will see its only 6inch a difference i pulled 300k easy enough last week prob got 700lb in the tank so we will see
i would like to pull close to my PB of 330 soon enough would like 360k 15inch and 380 silver dollar thats the short term plan anyway mate
