Decent session Neil. Bare armed tackyless stones aren't funUnhappy But I find there is enough tacky on the stones you don't really need any on!

Yeah john, it was decent enough I suppose, good craic with leggiez, carl and the rest of the lads too.

I know what you mean dave, only put tacky on for the 145 as its still a bit dusty as its newer than the rest. The amount of tacky on them actually caused a few issues as they were sticcking to the floor making ot hard to get them lapped.

Back in for pressing again today.

Log:

100kg x 2 sets of 3 and a set of 5, all of which were PBs. Time to test a new max next week I think. Well chuffed with the progress I've made on the russian masters, even though I didn't follow it very closely at all nearer the end.

Powerclean:

60kg x 2 sets of 5
80kg x 3 sets of 3
100kg x 5 singles

Various grip stuff and done.

Good session today, the set of 5 on log was the first time it has been hard going to finish the sets, still not quite maximal though, will fire the video up later.

Thanks Neil.

A lazy events session today in between nightshifts.

Frame carry:

195kg x 3 runs of 18m
215kg x 2 runs of 18m
235kg x 2 runs of 18m
255kg x 2 runs of 18m, all pretty quick and grip never really felt like ot was in danger of going.

Natural stones to 52":

3 stones, no idea of weights, I'd guess between 100 and about 115-120kg. I call them natural stones but they do look like they have just been stolen off the top of a wall somewhere. A few reps of each stone, just getting a feel of them really as they are due tobbe used in a comp I've got coming up.

Sledgehammer:

10lb hammer x 3 sets of 30 hits, 15 on each arm per set.

Prowler:

Empty x a few 50ish metre runs

Decent session, not much proper work other than the frame but it was good and showing signs of improvement.

Thanks John.

Pressing tonight and the end of the Russian masters. Pretty knackered after a weekend of nightshifts but got myself pumped full of caffeine and got on with it.

Log:

85kg x 2
105kg x 1, failed the second rep. Not enough warm up and struggling with the uneven ground so moved back inside.
85kg X 3
95kg X 2
105kg X 2
110kg X 1, big PB on the pushpress.
115kg X fail, almost had it. I'm sure this will go next time.

Axle:

80kg X 2 sets of 5
100kg X 3 sets of 3, one clean per set and a mixture of push and split jerks.

CGBP:

100kg X 3 sets of 4, can't remember the last time I did any bench and it felt a bit alien.

DB Laterals X some

Meer Extensions X some

Good session, bit disappointed to miss the 115 log, dunno if I was just tired after nightshift, slightly worn out from all the pressing I've done recently or a bit of both but didn't feel near my best and my logging was nowhere near as good as my 100kg for 5 from the other day. I'm quite confident the 115kg and maybe even more will go next time I try it. Will need to put the log on the back burner for a few weeks though and concentrate on my axle and dumbbell ahead of the next comp at the end of the month.

That 110kg flew up man! Im surprised you failed 115, you'll nail it in better circumstances though, like you said. All in all, nice session!

Where's your next comp? And you're doing the one at Results at the start of September?

Cheers, doing the arnolds qualifier in Dunfermline on 31 august and then the results one the week after. Not really expecting much from the results one as I am nightshift again that weekend but as its 5 minutes down the road I might as well do it, gonna be a really long day though with 30 guys doing a max squat, don't think the logisitical side of it has been thought through at all really.

Good luck for the qualifier. Ah that's right, everyone's gonna need to use the same frame for squatting... It'll be an interesting day then!

I'm not too sure how I managed to fail the 115, think I might have been tired after nightshift, fatigued from all the pressing I've done recently or a bit of both. I'm quite confident that 115 or maybe even 120kg is there on a good day.

Back in for some pulling tonight.

Deadlift:

Worked up to 280kg in the suit and failed 290kg. Not sure what has happened to my deadlifting recently but it has gone to rats**t. I suppose 280kg isn't too bad but is down by 30 kg on my PB from March. Then took the suit off and dropped the weight back a bit.

240kg X 3, first 2 were easy but the last one was quite tough.
220kg X 5, as above, everything except the last rep was easy enough.

Speed Deadlift:

180kg + 50kg of chain X 5 sets of 2

BO Rows:

160kg X 3 sets of 8, wide grip (pinky on the rings)

Chins:

Bodyweight X 3 sets of 5, mixture of grips.

Frame Hold:

255kg X about 15 sec, meant to do another couple but tore one of the calluses on my right palm quite badly so left it there rather than cause more damage.

Decent session I suppose, a bit disappointed with the suited pulls as the video below shows the 280kg was comfy enough so annoyed at failing 290kg.

I think the problems I have been having on the deadlift are because I stopped doing what I was doing when my deadlift was going really well at the start of the year, ie lots of speed pulls and heavy rows. Hopefully re-introducing them will make my deadlift improve again.

Solid enough session , even if the heavier deads are not happening atm . A few lighter weeks and building to a taper will sort it out i guess Happy
