Apparently he's already pulled 470kg in training, but that was in 2007 and he since had some injury or illness or something soon after. Amazing. beautifully vague of you to relay that to us, SMed, on why it has taken his 4 years to do the same in competition!

I can't believe my eyes This has been debated at length by men who have no axe to grind. The consensus was the weights aren't true, that they maybe only weigh 90% of what they should. It is still very impressive, but not as unbelievable as the purported truth appears to be. After all, this would not be the first time the yanks had used light weights to record some seriously impressive figures. Just a thought

Some others did pull massive PB's though - Orlando Green pulled 865lbs which I think was 60lbs over his PB. From watching how Benni only just pulled 442.5kg at the Bulfarm meet it's hard to believe that he pulled 460kg so easily a few months later...... 442.5kg Bulfarm Meet 460kg World Record I'm not saying Benni has tried to fool us all, but maybe the weights weren't as calibrated as they should have been? As has been already been said, we will find out in October. He is one hell of a deadlifter, that much is for sure!

Member 1419, 2281 posts SQ 175, BP 105, DL 240520.0 kgs @ 82kgs UnEq | yeah, he squatted 800+pounds raw and benched pretty heavy. He also had hernia issues at that point. The differences seem perfectly acceptable.

Member 2509, 123 posts SQ 335, BP 237.5, DL 380952.5 kgs @ 106.4kgs UnEq | I spoke to Gemma shortly after the 460kg pull. I am aware that Benni was not deadlifting much before he competed in the Bullfarm meet due to various injuries and personal issues. Following this he re-targeted his deadlift for a period to demonstrate his dominance. Gigantic lifts will always come under some serious scrutiny, however the claim of Pete of the 90% mark is preposterous, even the cheapest nastiest plates on the market are not that far out and these are clearly Ivanko plates.

No testing, calibrated weights, no kit check, not done by normal powerlifting rules (not wearing a singlet) etc etc...
