well....
to be really anal about it, the lift wasn't done in a real federation (more an exhibition lift) and he didn't even take token squats/deadlifts. No testing, calibrated weights, no kit check, not done by normal powerlifting rules (not wearing a singlet) etc etc...

yeah i was a bit suprised when people started calling it a world record after seing the footage tbh

I see your points. But real federation...doesn't mean much really. It was deadlift only but does it really matter if he squats 50kg first? Bit of waste of time really. Someone could say this is the biggest deadlift of all time but say another lift was the biggest full meet deadlift when someone did a full meet without token lifts. (Im guessing Andy B but I dont know the weight) Singlet...on deadlift I don't think it really matters.

The big thing would be calibrated weights. That could possibly be dodgy but as has been pointed out, it wasn't a PB fest. Yes Benni deadlifted more than at Bullfarm but as has been said he squatted and benched at Bullfarm. Yes Orlando Green hit a big PB but if memory serves me right he got a fairly sizeable PB at NOTLD last year as well. I think (despite him shifting some massive weights), he is still making a lot of progress.

I said:Crazy strong. But it will be broken again soon I'm sure. Someone will hit 500 in the next few years. Probably benni or andy. Although seeing the british grand prix there are a few guys hitting the mid 400's now. Loz and Shaw pulled big numbers there.

Why do you think this?
The record has moved a few kgs in the last 4 years or so? Cannot see it moving 40kg in next few years... or maybe ever who knows?

i reckon it will just because of the progress from quite a few lifters in the past couple of years. also because it went up so quickly, there's probably more there already. it's just my opinion. i mean look at the axle and log records; they've gone up like 40 or 50 kg in the last couple of years.

however the claim of Pete of the 90% mark is preposterous,
