This weekend is the BWLA Four Nations powerlifting championships in Scotland. Mick and Ian "Shagger" Shaw are going up from the North West, representing England in the supers and the 90kgs. Mick is on for a 900plus total if he can carry his gym form over, and Ian will squat and pull dome big numbers, shame about the s**t bench.

Good luck the boys.

Excellent sounds good, best of luck.

Joni should be there doing some videos and possibly posting results here as the day goes on.

Lol! How naive can you get. When I heard Ian was good at pulling, I assumed deadlifting. I must get out more!

Kevin Jane from the Farm is also going up, I think that he is both lifting and ref'ing.

Good luck to one and all.

The Four Nations contest always has a great atmosphere so I am pretty sure a good time will be had by all.

What's Ian's bench like, PorkPie? Equipped and unequipped?

Equipped 150ish, unequipped 125ish. The long arms which help his deadlift wreck his bench.

Oh, and good luck everyone. Have a great weekend in God's country.

Thanks Martin.

Yep, not a great bench. If I could choose two lifts to be strong in though, it'd be the squat and deadlift; Ian sure is strong in both of those.

So, four NW lifters representing England? That's got to be good going.

Some live results:

Karen (fruitbat) finished second out of five with 310 total, 102.5 squat pb and 147.5 deadlift pb!

Joe just got his second squat in 297.5.

Joe just missed his third squat 302.5.

Unfortunately Ian Shaw bombed on squats on depth, apparently judging is very strict.

Heavies are lifting now, Northern Ireland strongman Brian Irwin opened on 300 raw squat. Mick Ashurst missed 350 on depth.

And Joni just told me to post this:

"f**k the f**king past timers disco biceps pumping shiny bas***ds who have the car wanted to leave so i will miss the rest of the lifting. They probably prefer bodybuilding comps.

I guess thats updates over Grin

There's a good reports service over on PLUK, guys. Mick Ashurst made his 350 squat at the second attempt.
