I don't believe I'm familiar with "something for your bottom drawer", though I might well figure it out in context.

Two today. Usual opener left only a few options and I guessed correctly.

A rather quick four, the old openers were used today and to rather good effect

It's from the Victorian era when a woman wasn't considered eligible for marriage until she possessed a complete set of household linen. Pre-British Home stores and John Lewis etc she had to make this herself.

As she created each piece it would be stored in the long drawer at the bottom of her dressing table along with other pre-wedding gifts for use in her future home. Hence "something for your bottom drawer" is exactly that.

It's also related to the term "spinster" for an un-married woman as it was the term for a women who spun wool

30 x 3
40 x 3
50 x 3

100 x 3
110 x 3
120 x 3
130 x 3
130 x 3
130 x 3

It's bitterly cold today, it snowed yesterday and that's all ice now, the roads are clear but side roads and carparks are very slippy. Maybe because of this I wasn't having the best of days. The first 130 felt heavy and wasn't the best depth wise, the second 130 was better but needed improvement, the third was pretty damned good if I may say so myself, I really concentrated on the depth and was rewarded. Of course this made it much harder to stand up again so I called it a day at three sets, five sets can wait a week, when hopefully it will be a tad warmer.

Usual openers, all done and dusted very quickly

Very early Tesco run this morning, returned home just before seven o'clock, temperature was -7. That's very cold for these parts

Listening to radio 4's newspaper review earlier, I was amused that one of the Scottish papers referred to the Rwanda plan as "state sponsored human trafficking". Good for them I say

A three yesterday which probably should have been a two and a two today which probably should have been a three.

Usual opener and then just a matter of striking lucky as there weren’t many options remaining.
