Cheers john, though it doesnt really seem that way lately. Gym strength is on the up, but it just doesnt seem to show when it comes to competition. I need to find a new way of doing things to ensure i perform when it counts.

I'm guessing when your gearing up for a comp nerves, food preparation, and travel can all take their toll.best of for the next one Happy

Life has gotten rather tricky this week so ive not had the chance to train (despite the "gym" being my garage and only about 6ft away from home). This is unlikely to change today, but theres a fighting chance i will get a session in tomorrow, either way i will be making every effort to get to events on Sunday.

Up to 320 * 20m - 2 sets.

Monster DB

82 * f, f, f, f, 1 - PB.

DOH apollons axle

Up to 196 * 1 - PB?

Really fun session today. The rain ruined our actual plans so the session just turned into a pissing contest between the 3 opens athletes. I felt really good after the week off (and getting life outside the gym sorted) so threw myself in to it with much gusto.
I was agonisingly close on the 82kg DB and knew i could get it so just kept on hammering it until it finally clicked. Trying to get the hang of those rebel strength DBs. They are by far the biggest DBs ive ever came across.
The axle pulls felt good, my grip hasnt felt at its best for a long while, so hopefully its starting to return now.
Yoke was done before the planned session got rained off. Staggered a bit on the first run, but my final 320 was a quick one. Unlikely to go much heavier than this in the next month or two as i focus on building some serious foot speed.

Should be back to training as normal from tomorrow.

Working around a pulled erector muscle from sundays session so couldnt face any heavy rowing. Dropped the weights and upped the grip quotient by adding in my giant fat gripz, not used them in a while, they really do make even light weights quite the challenge.

Didnt get to train last night as i was late home, so had to do squats and deads together.
Both felt a little ropey with my tender back, but its easing slightly now, so hopefully be able to put on a decent performance for events on sunday.

A good session today, focus for me was just on technique and speed, so nothing heavy.
The sandbag runs at the end nearly killed me, but as they also crippled one of the strongest men on the planet im ok with that.
